It's been two days since Liam's stupid stunt. His sprain was healing well and he's now allowed to resume normal activities, as long as his left wrist won't be bothered.
I checked up on his wrist and only a couple days more before he can fully use it again.
"Stop using your wrist so it could heal faster you dumbass!" I scold him since he's being stubborn and keeps on carrying stuff he shouldn't be carrying and has no reason to.
"I'm going to the beach. The others are there. You coming?" I asked and he nodded. "Cool. I'll just change."
I went to our room and changed into my peach shorts and a loose white shirt.
"You ready?" I asked Liam and he nodded, and together we walked to the beach where the others are.
"Ey! Right on time!" Enzo shouts the moment they saw us.
It was almost sundown and the gang was sitting around a bonfire.
"Come on sit! We're playing fuck the dealer!" Alec says and this is a game we would always play when we planned on getting drunk.
The rules of the game are this.
So someone is assigned to be a dealer while the other players take turns guessing the value of the top card. The player gets two guesses. If the player gets the correct value on their first guess, the dealer takes four shots. If the player fails to do so, the dealer has to say whether the true value of the card is higher or lower than what the player guessed. Take note, the dealer is not allowed to lie or else he or she gets serious consequences.
Anyways, when the player guessed the card's value on his second guess, the dealer takes three shots. If he doesn't get the value, the player takes five shots.
"Well, who's the dealer?" I asked the group.
"Seeing that you two just came in, the last one to sit becomes the dealer!" Oh shit.
Liam started sprinting to the group, leaving me behind and I finally got to my senses and ran, but it was too late. Liam got to them first and now, I'm bound to get wasted tonight.
"Oh come on!" I groan as Enzo passes me the deck of cards.
I don't have a choice so I started shuffling the deck.
"Alright Madds. Guess the value." I told her as I looked at the top card which has a value of two.
"I'm going with... two!" She says and I groan. How the hell did she get that right away?
"Fuck you man. Beginner's luck." I say as the guys handed me four shot glasses with different types of alcohol.
I drowned them all and God did that burn my throat.
"Holy shit the other one was strong. What was that?" I asked.
"I forgot but I remember it having a fifty percent or something alcohol content." Enzo says as I give him a death stare.
"I hate you." I tell him as Liam was the next to guess.
I checked the next card and it has a value of nine.
"Hmm. Five?" He said and I shaked my head no.
"Higher." I said.
"Nine?" He says and I facepalm myself.
"Is there a fucking mirror behind me that I can't see? How are you guys getting this. Damn you all." I say as they once again handed me two shots.
"Hey Alex. Look who's here." Madds tells me, pointing to the far end of the beach. I looked in the direction and saw the one and only Ares who was in board shorts and a muscle tee.
I think I'm drunk that I'm seein a fucking God walk towards us. Okay nawp, I'm not drunk. He's really real.
"Hey Alex." He said and I greeted him back.
"Ehem. You mind introducing us?" Keith says and I do as told.
"Oh right sorry. So that's Keith, the one who spoke just right now. The small girl next to her is Madds." I say to which Madds says, "hey!" I ignored her and introduced the others.
"That's Emma, together with Alec. And the idiot dumbass looking male is Enzo." I say, giving the guy a death stare as he raises his hands up.
"And that's Liam." I say give a nod to Ares.
"And you guys know Ares." I say and he waves at them.
"Hey. Good to finally meet you all." Ares says.
"Hey man, you wanna join us?" Enzo asks.
"Sure. What're you playing?"
"Fuck the dealer."
"No shit I'm in. Who's the dealer anyways?" Ares asks and they all look at me as I roll my eyes.
"You're dead Al." He says.
"I know I know."
Madds moved away from me and Ares took it as the signal to sit next to me and as he did, he gave me a quick kiss on the cheek. Well that was new.
"Alright. Who's turn is it?"
The game continued for about five rounds or so, until our drinks were gone. You know, I'm actually too drunk right now to even know how much I drank as the group destroyed me for getting the majority of the right answers.
I have high tolerance for alcohol, it's just that I think I drank too much. I look around to see the whole surrounding is spinning. I tried to shake my head, but that only made things worse.
Right now, the others were dancing as music blasted the speakers.
"Here. Drink this." I looked to where the deep voice was coming from and saw a big glass of iced water. I shaked my head, not wanting to drink anything.
Ares sits beside me and convinces me to drink, and soon, I give in. Not being able to resist this Greek God.
"I need a hug. Please hug me." I plead with him, bringing my arms out as he laughs. Oh God even his deep laugh is pleasing to the ears.
"Come here." He says and I smile giddily, going in for the hug and I giggle as he wraps his big, strong, and muscular arms around me.
"You... you smell nice." I say as I take a whiff of his scent... yes, like a dog.
"You think? What so I smell like then huh?" He asks.
"It's like... uh like a mix of fresh pine trees and the uh... the salty breeze of the ocean. I like it hehe." I giggle and he chuckles. Oh how I love that deep sound.
Oh god, this isn't like me. Drunk flirting with Greekie here and melting under his hug. This is not Alex, but for a moment, I let that Alex fade and snuggle closer to him.
This feels nice. We were sitting on the sand, with the bonfire in front of us. The stars shining above. The moon illuminating the beautiful waters of the ocean as waves crashed into the shore.
It was beautiful. I drown the music in the background, and for that moment, all my pain fades away. It's just me and Ares under the skies. My head resting on his shoulder and his arms circling around my waist.
It was perfect. But I know it won't last. I know that if I get my feelings attached again, I'll just get hurt once more. But at this moment, I let him hold me. As if I was his. Just for this moment.
