Her fingers traced the lines of the map, every river and old road, everything was theirs now. The human race was back.
Clarke stood at the edge of the clearing, her brows drawn in confusion. This can't be right.
The lines of the mountain range in front of her did not fit the ones on the map."Not even an hour on earth and you are already trying to save our asses," a voice behind her chuckled.
She groaned. "Shut up space walker."
" I believe it's Finn."She turned around sharply, tilting her head to look up at the teen with messy brown hair, a sharp jaw and playful eyes. The boy who wasted a month of oxygen on an illegal space walk and was the cause of two deaths after the boys followed him in unbuckling themselves in the drop ship.
Two gone, ninety eight still alive. But ninety eight already seems too little, she thought.
"I believe that I don't care, at all actually," she sighed.
"Someone is in a good mood," Finn grinned. "Of course I am," she snorted, pointing at the map and then the mountains. "They dropped us on the wrong damn mountain."He cringed then walked away too do whatever the idiot wanted too do. They were free now and that almost scared her. I am with a whole bunch of criminals and no one will want to follow any rules. All her life, rules and commands and been shoved down her throat and now she listened to no one. It was an odd feeling but one Clarke wouldn't mind getting used too.
With the chancellor's words about finding Mt. Weather and its supplies in the back of her mind she marched back to the drop ship. While packing her bag someone she had hoped could just disappear came up beside her. "What's the plan?" Wells asked. "Survive," she stated.
"I mean what are we doing.""There is no we Wells," she snapped looking into his dark eyes, eyes that had once provided comfort but now only offered betrayal. You're the reason I got locked up, the reason my father was executed, all because I thought I could trust my best friend.
He looked taken aback for a second but then straitened up. "You can't expect to carry all those supplies on your own."
"I'll find some people," she shrugged. "Plus your leg would slow us down."
Wells' jaw clenched as he looked down at his left leg which had been sprained in the crash. "I'm sure you'll make yourself useful."
"Clarke...," he started. She opened her mouth to yell at him again but he cut her off.
"I know about the mission," he spoke in a whisper. Her jaw dropped. "Im surprised they trusted you."
"I'm sorry."
" I don't want your apologies," Clarke glared. But you need them. She swung the bag over her shoulder and stormed towards the forest."Hey princess!"
The voice cut through the air silencing the camp and her shoulders stiffened. "I thought we had a mutual agreement to stay the hell away from each other," her teeth gritted as she slowly turned around to face Bellamy.
"Oh really," he smirked. "I didn't notice."His attractiveness was almost making this difficult, almost. Blake was in his early twenties and taller than most of the boys. His skin was tanned and he had an almost rugged look to him. He had dark messy hair with eyes that seemed even colder than his so far jackass personality.
"What's the rush?" his younger sister taunted nodding at Wells. "Lover boy too much?" The whole camp snickered. Like brother like sister.
"I'm heading to Mt. Weather, in other words saving everybody's asses and I need some help."
The smirks fell and lips tightened. Clarke almost smiled. "Its about a two day trek so we should leave as soon as possible."
"Who's we?" Bellamy questioned.
"Whoever wants to go down in history as a survivor."
"Why don't we just let you do it. Let the privileged do the hard work for a change." Cheers met his request. She stepped closer to him not letting the fact that he towered over her scare her. "If you think I'm so weak how do you expect me too bring back enough supplies for one hundred juveniles?"
He glared down at her and she glared right back.Their staring match was interrupted by a few shouts. Wells was being knocked to the ground by one of the boys but was cut off by Finn as he jumped from the drop ship roof. "Kid has one leg, why don't you wait until its a fair fight."
The boy who had floppy hair and a pointing, sneering face seemed reluctant until he noticed Bellamy's stare and backed down. While Bellamy's sister flirted with Finn, Clarke tried to escape but was stopped by a hand on her arm.
"Rumor is that you're a healer."
"Rumor is that you're not really a guard."
Bellamy looked down at his stolen jacket which fit but was a little loose in some places. "Listen princess, as much as you may hate it we almost need you."
"Almost?" she said partly amused.
"Almost."
"Well then I suggest you get someone to protect the princess if you care so much," she looked up at him sweetly. His jaw clenched but he called some people over.
