At the mansion.
The Doctor's POV
We gathered in the main room around the crackling fireplace while the others dispersed throughout the mansion, each occupied with their own pursuits. Dr. Life occupied the left side of the room, I sat in the middle, and Dr. Death occupied the right, his expression as impassive as ever. Dr. Life mentioned that Dr. Death had been like that since losing Lilith, sparking a curious inquiry about their past. While I knew the story of Dr. Death and Lilith, I was unfamiliar with how Dr. Life and Elizabeth had met. With Dr. Life lost in thought, gazing into the flickering flames, I decided to ask him about it."Hey, Life," I began, catching his attention. As he raised his head, a faint red mark lingered where his hand had rested moments before, fading away after a few seconds.
"Yeah, of course, go ahead," he replied in his usual upbeat manner.
"You never really told me how you and Elizabeth met," I said, prompting a playful response from him.
"So, you're in the mood for a bedtime story?" he teased, to which I quickly clarified my genuine curiosity.
"Alright, alright. I'll tell you, but get comfortable. It's quite the tale," he chuckled, setting the scene for his narrative.
Flashback:
Several months after receiving the crown from my guardian, a message arrived from the nearby town where mortals dwelled.
Third Person POV
We witness Dr. Life seated upon his throne when the grand doors swung open, revealing a messenger who promptly bowed before him.
"My lord, I come from the town of Alaskium," the messenger announced.
"Speak," Dr. Life commanded, his voice authoritative.
The messenger relayed news of the capture of a witch accused of murdering a miner in a cave, as per Dr. Life's decree to be informed of such events.
"Very well. I shall depart immediately. Until then, ensure she remains unharmed," Dr. Life instructed before summoning his son, Gabriel, to oversee matters in his absence.
Time Skip:
As I journeyed in my chariot through the kingdom towards the village, I was greeted by my subjects. Children approached, their innocence a source of delight as they inquired about my destination.
"I'm off to a nearby village, young ones. Make sure to return home before your parents worry," I advised, sharing a fond farewell before continuing on my way.
Dr. Life cherished his people, their affection reciprocated towards him, the benevolent ruler of the Heaven Realm. His decision to lower part of Heaven to the mortal realm allowed for closer monitoring of humanity, ensuring their well-being. Contrary to popular belief, angels led lives akin to mortals, complete with families and daily routines.
Upon arriving at the village, Dr. Life was warmly welcomed by the townsfolk, eventually making his way to the prison where the alleged witch was held. Declining the guards' assistance, he ventured alone to the cell, where an unexpected sight awaited him.
