Dr. Life POV
I teleported myself to the royal garden and found her there, surrounded by flowers in the moonlight. Silently, I approached her from behind as she admired the blooms.
Elizabeth Nefta: "They're so beautiful."
Gently, I removed my top hat and placed it on her head, covering her eyes before speaking.
Dr. Life: "Not as beautiful as you."
She gasped at my unexpected presence.
[Elizabeth Nefta's POV]
I turned around to see the love of my life standing before me. Without hesitation, I threw myself into his arms, kissing him passionately while he held me close, his hands on my waist. As we pulled apart, tears streaming down both our faces, we pressed our foreheads together.
Dr. Life: "I'm sorry for leaving. I didn't want to."
Elizabeth Nefta: "It doesn't matter. You're here now, and you won't leave again."
Dr. Life: "I'm sorry, but I can't stay. I can only visit once a year until I'm finished."
My tears flowed faster.
Elizabeth Nefta: "Why did you leave?"
Dr. Life: "Three corrupted reincarnations of the entities threatened to harm you and our daughter if I didn't leave."
Elizabeth Nefta: "But you're stronger than them."
Dr. Life: "Maybe, but I don't want to risk losing you or Lizzia. I'm so sorry for all of this."
Elizabeth Nefta: "Don't be. I forgive you. You did it out of love, to protect us."
We gazed into each other's eyes until I spoke again.
Elizabeth Nefta: "Should I bring Lizz?"
Dr. Life: "No. I don't want her or myself to hope for staying longer than one day. I don't want to make her sad every time I leave."
Elizabeth Nefta: "I understand. She has your hair, by the way, and your cheerful personality. She truly is your daughter."
He gave a soothing smile before pulling me in for another kiss, this one lingering for what felt like an eternity. When we finally parted, we stood there, lost in each other's gaze.
[Third person POV]
They stood in silence, with only one word spoken.
Dr. Life: "I love you."
With only one response.
Elizabeth Nefta: "I love you too."
