He got up and walked away. I stood there, my eyes following his retreating shadow. It got smaller while my heart, bigger. The breeze felt cold against my skin as I replayed the conversation in my head. His wide eyes rested as a lingering reminder of my strength.
Girls are usually thought to be weak, shy, unable to stand up for themselves. That's why men are considered an essential part of their lives for survival. But there she stood as strong as ever, finally breathing freely. None knew that sometimes rejection could actually free caged birds, flying to live.
