"Where were you? I was worried." Was the first thing Taehyung had heard as soon as he tried to open the door as quietly as he could, which by the way, didn't go as planned.

He locked eyes with an annoyed Jimin who stood still in the dim living room, glaring at him with all his might as if asking for an explanation of his sudden disappearance in the middle of the night.

"Well? Aren't you going to tell me?" He asked again, the tinge of annoyance being a bit clearer than the first time.

Taehyung let out a sigh and joined his friend, taking a seat on the couch beside the sleeping bundle of fur that was Yeontan. Jimin's eyes were still set on him and that was the necessary push to make him talk.

"I didn't mean to come so late." He said, making Jimin more impatient.

"Alright, but where were you? This is what I want to know."

Jimin was bound to overreact and bombard him with tons of questions, which is why he was reluctant to mention where he had been for more than an hour. He hadn't planned to stay longer than that but with all the things that Yoongi had to go through, he just couldn't let him deal with them alone.

Yoongi was important to him so he tried to help him as much as he could. The cuddles, sweet whispers, kisses and reassuring speeches ended up being three hours long but he didn't mind. If anything, Jimin would.

"At Yoongi's place." He finally confessed, breaking into a cheeky grin.

Jimin stared at him like he was stupid. "Then why the hell didn't you say so? I was worried sick, you dumbass!"

Taehyung couldn't help but let out a small chuckle at his friend who, surprisingly enough, acted like a parent more and more often.

"Alright, I'm sorry for worrying you, Jiminie."

Jimin's pouty lips formed a wide smile at the cute nickname he had just received. "Still, why were you at Yoongi's place? In the middle of the night, might I add." He questioned, his eyes scanning the younger's expression as if trying to find some hints.

Taehyung sucked in a deep breath, afraid to mention the real reason. After all, Jimin was completely oblivious to the fact that Yoongi had a bad past and things were going downhill for him. He avoided talking about it and a part of him regretted it, but he knew well enough that if he said anything, Jimin would try to put distance between them.

That was the last thing he wanted. So he tried to put on a smile, hoping it was convincing enough, and racked his brain for a plausible excuse that'd be enough to settle Jimin down.

It wasn't easy. He was a terrible liar and Jimin knew it best.

"It might sound stupid, but hyung had a terrible nightmare. He called me and insisted that I should keep him company and help him get over it."

Jimin eyed him suspiciously, arching an eyebrow.

"And you know me. I love helping people in need. Especially Yoongi hyung." Taehyung chuckled, hoping that his excuse was a good one and that Jimin bought it.

He focused on the way Jimin's lips stretched into a cheeky grin and he unknowingly let out a relieved sigh.

"Really? That's so cute. I hope he's feeling better."

Taehyung ran his hands through Yeontan's fur, a sad look crossing his face. "I hope so too."

-------

Maybe it was too late and not a good time, but Yoongi couldn't just sit around and wait for things to go even worse. He couldn't wait two damn days in order to voice his thoughts in front of the man who slowly ruined his life.
