The room Taehyung had found himself in was dim, cold and unfamiliar. His eyes slowly fluttered open, gradually getting used to the surroundings. He winced in pain, his head spinning with each small movement and his neck throbbing even when he struggled to swallow.

By the looks of it, he seemed to be in a basement. Most likely Namjoon's basement since he could hear him upstairs talking on the phone with someone. He couldn't hear much aside from the few muffled words at the beginning.

"Yeah, I got him. He's most likely still unconscious."

He had no time to sit around and wait for something worse to happen. Fear was no longer present. Determination to get out took its place instead. Sucking in quite a painful breath, Taehyung attempted to stand up but that proved to be a lot more difficult than he thought it would be. He discovered that both his ankles and wrists were restrained by thick, sturdy ropes that were tight enough to leave bruises on his skin.

"Shit.." he frowned, still set on trying his hardest to free himself.

With hazy eyes, he scanned the dim place, barely illuminated by the moonlight that seeped through a small opening in the wall, looking for anything useful and sharp enough to get rid of the ropes. He could barely see a thing in there but he definitely noticed the small shard of glass sitting not too far away from him. It wasn't that hard to miss since the moonlight fell upon it and made it shine. Faintly, but clearly enough for Taehyung to smile in victory.

Using his hands to pick it up was out of the question. So he extended his legs instead, as much as he could. Being a tall person had finally come in handy, apparently.

"Just a bit more, come on." He encouraged himself under his breath, trying to keep unwanted attention away from him for as long as possible. Until he'd reach the piece of glass, that is.

"I'll go check on him."

Namjoon's gruff voice started to get closer to the basement and Taehyung clenched his jaw, groaning as he extended his legs even more, finally managing to reach the shard of glass. With a swift movement, he had pulled it towards him and clutched it tightly with the hands that were tied behind him.

A sigh of relief escaped his lips just as the doors opened with a loud creak that shot right through his brain. He locked eyes with a smirking Namjoon who approached him more and more, stopping right in front of his face.

He crouched down to his level and gripped his jaw, forcing him to look into his dark eyes.

"The little rat is awake."

Taehyung had gotten ready to say something back, but that would have caused even more trouble, so he refrained himself from doing so. He had to remain calm, even though it wasn't as easy as he thought.

Namjoon seemed to be unsettled, terribly angry even. Taehyung didn't want to rile him up even more.

"Why did you do this?" Taehyung blurted out.

Foolish mistake. Namjoon stared him down, the fire in his eyes seemingly growing stronger. Taehyung was scared but he also needed answers. The situation was out of control.

"Why? Interesting question, indeed. Let's start with the obvious first, shall we?" Namjoon smiled and stood up, pacing back and forth as Taehyung's eyes followed his every move with caution.

"You're important to Yoongi. Someone dear to him. Someone so innocent and kind. He basically can't live without you at this point." Namjoon's voice was almost robotic as he spoke.

The look on his face said more. He was frustrated. Looked incredibly pained.

"What better way to take revenge than taking the one he loves the most away from him?"

Now that particular sentence piqued Taehyung's interest the most. His ears perked up and it was obvious that he wanted to hear more, because things were still pretty much unclear. Why did he want to take revenge? What happened between the two brothers? Something far worse than he expected, apparently.

"Revenge? Why?" He asked. His voice was barely audible.

Namjoon looked him in the eyes this time, a colder expression crossing his face. "Because he did the same thing to me. He took my parents away from me. Without an ounce of hesitation."

Taehyung gasped. It finally clicked. Things cleared up instantly.

"Doing this won't change anything. Your parents won't come back if you do the same thing to me." Taehyung mumbled, a sad look in his eyes as he glanced up at the older.

Namjoon then started laughing, much to his surprise. "Yes, I know. It'd make Yoongi feel the same kind of pain I had to go through instead." He said, oblivious to the fact that Yoongi had suffered as well despite not showing it.

Yoongi had been through the same thing and the fact that Namjoon didn't see it pained Taehyung.

"Your emotions are all over the place, Namjoon. It's normal. But stop for a bit and think logically. You both lost your parents and while it might have been Yoongi's fault, he didn't want it to happen. He regrets it, he feels really sorry and trust me, he's genuine about it. He had suffered as well every day. Alone. Just like you." Taehyung sighed, watching as Namjoon got closer and gripped his jaw yet again, with a bit more force this time.

He winced in pain as Namjoon punched him.

"Shut up. You don't know anything. He's a heartless monster who deserves to suffer. More than I did. And I'll make sure of that."

Taehyung braced himself, his jaw aching as another powerful punch abused his skin. Blood trickled down, staining his clothes as Namjoon stormed out of the basement, closing the door with a loud thud.

Despite being in immense pain, he had struggled to suck in a few steady breaths before proceeding to cut the rope around his wrists.

"I'll get out of here. With or without help."

Jimin's lungs felt like they were on fire as he ran down the quiet streets and towards Yoongi's apartment. On his way, he had found Taehyung's phone, which only solidified his theory. Taehyung had been kidnapped.

Through ragged breaths, Jimin pounded his shaking fists against the shabby door, barely keeping himself up on his feet due to all the emotions coursing through his veins.

Hearing all the commotion outside his door, Yoongi glanced at Hoseok in a questioning manner and placed the stack of boxes aside before making his way to the front door.

It was rather late for any visitors but judging by the way the person knocked on his door, it had to be something important. Grasping the handle, Yoongi had finally opened the door and came across an agitated Jimin covered in sweat. Panting roughly, shaking tremendously and looking beyond terrified, Jimin clutched Yoongi's shirt and looked him in the eyes.

"What's going on--"

"Taehyung is missing!"

That's all it took for Yoongi to feel the ground crumble underneath his feet.
