Chapter 13: The Shopping

It was 29th January, Anaya's engagement was approaching. Emma had made me cancel my Nanital impromptu trip, but still she and Adi hadn't disclosed there "The Plan". Adi had been out of country since December, last contact I had with him was when he video called the previous week to talk to Rudra.

Rudra was showing speedy recovery, he was discharged form the hospital after a week, and since he had a fracture on his tibia, he had to either use a wheelchair or crutches, also a nurse was appointed to overlook him. A physiotherapist, Dr. Tia came every alternate day to give physiotherapy lessons to Rudra. Anaya's mom had suggested mom about Tia's famous physiotherapy, so mom made sure that it was Tia who would give physio therapy lessons to Rudra. I was lounging in Rudra's room, scrolling through social media whereas he was playing video games.

'It's time now, I won't listen to you now Adi, you have been gone since December. I am going to tell them. Call you later.' Emma barged into Rudra's room, she was talking angrily to Adi via face-time.

'Woah, everything cool? You sound pretty mad.' I said as she flopped down on the bed beside me after she hung up on Adi.

'I am, Adi had gone since December and he says he might need to stay another week there.'

'Oh, so what's the matter, are you missing him? Aww don't tell me you guys are together-together.' I said making eyes at her.

'Shut up Dev. He is travelling to the places which Ranbir often visits for his business.' Emma said, while I gave her a confused look, 'Okay, I guess it's time I tell you about "The Plan", Rudra can you just end your game.'

'Sorry Emma, it's an online game, can't pause.' Rudra said, his eyes still fixed on the TV screen. He couldn't see Emma's pissed face, but I could and in the next second Emma simply walked over and stood beside TV and in an simple easy motion plucked the TV's cable.

I couldn't control my laugh as I saw Rudra's shocked expression, his jaw fell open and he just stared at Em, who gave him a plastered smile and walked over to sit next to me.

'WHAT.THE.HECK! Emma how could you, I was winning the damn game.' Rudra said angrily turning to face Em. Since he had a fractured leg, he couldn't walk without his crutches or I am damn sure he would have stomped over and threw a huge dramatic tantrum, instead he just glared daggers at Emma.

'Woah, okay-okay, peace.' I said as I made a piece sign, 'Guys please, we are here for another reason, not for you both to start a fight.' I said trying to pacify them.

'Fine. I forgive her.' Rudra said with a dramatic sigh.

'What!? Forgive me! oh hell no, who do you thi---' Emma was about to lurch at Rudra but I held her by her waist and pushed her back into the bed.

'STOP IT. BOTH OF YOU!' I said as I held my arm out to separate them, 'We have another matter on hand, let's concentrate on that please, no more fights. You both just don't speak with each other.' I said as I lowered my hands when I sensed both of them have calmed a bit.

'Good, Em, please, please tell us "The Plan" now, and god help me if it's a childish plan.' I said as I folded my hands.

'Ok, fine. Now listen.' Em stood up as she explained her plan to us.

A while later when we all were having snacks in the evening, I asked ,'Em, are you sure that it's gonna work?'

'It has to D, we don't really have much of a choice. And please talk to her regularly, make her laugh, ask her about her day, ask her about her engagement preparations, and please keep you flirting skills at bay.' Em said or rather ordered me.

'Hey, you are speaking as if I don't how to impress a girl. I am a gentleman madame, I know how to impress a girl.' I beamed.

'Yeah, whatever, just don't be wither too subtle or too showy.' Em pleaded.
