Chapter 5

May 18th, 10:47 pm Research facility of Genetic Mutation

Dr.Reyes POV:

“Kal. How did it go today?” 

“It went well. I think she might like me.”

“HA very good, I’m proud of you.”

“Thank you doctor.”

“Now leave me, I must get back to work.”

“Yes doctor.”

After Kal left I logged on to my computer and looked over my facility to make sure all of the freaks I've collected over the years are in line. “This will work,” I told myself. It has to. I will have it all

Kals POV: 

I walked towards my room and wondered why I'm doing this. I’m better than this. I would never want anyone to be controlled by him, they deserve to do whatever they want to do. I thought about Nala. She was so happy it sucks it wouldn't last long. Now that she's here he will start his plan and once he does I don't know if anyone will be safe. I decided not to think about it anymore and go to bed. I'm gonna enjoy whatever time I have with her before everything goes to shit.

Nala’s POV: 

2 weeks later June 1st, 11:30 am 

The past two weeks have been one of the best distractions I've ever had. I’ve hung out with King and Star every day and occasionally Nova would join us for lunch which was fine with me cause he’s nice to look at. Star told me about the “group of guys” I saw. His name is Dylan and he can multiply himself which made sense because I was gonna feel bad for the women who gave birth to 10 kids but it was just him. Kal and I also became closer. I told him about my father and how he had powers like me. I still didn't tell him much after that tho. He would always leave in a hurry when the Doctor called him I was suspicious but I didn't tell him that. I was in my room lost in my thoughts when King, Star, Dylan, and Nova came up to me.

“Hey, guys. What's up?”

“Hey.” They all said. It was silent for a little bit after. I looked at them confused until King let out a frustrated sigh and said.

“We have a plan.”

“A plan?” What are these fools talking about

Nova continued by saying, “We're gonna get out of here. All of us...but for that to happen we need you to make Kal fall in love with you so he’ll take out chips and set us free.”

I just stared at them for a moment before I burst out into laughter.

“What’s so funny Nala? This is serious.” Star said 

“Do you guys not hear how crazy this sounds? I mean come on. Do you really think that will work?”

“Yes.” They all said in unison

“Ok so if you guys wanna do this plan why don’t one of you guys do it,” I say while looking at Star and King.

King burst out laughing, “Are you serious? You must be joking if you think I would pretend to  love that fool?”

“Ok then what about you Star?”

“Ummm no thank you Nala”.

“Give me one good reason why I should do this?”

“You like him,” Dylan said

“He likes you,” Star said

“You're the hero, play your part right Nala,” Nova said

 King rolled her eyes, “Stop being a bitch and just do it.”

I sat there and they all stared at me. Was this a good idea? Could I really make someone fall in love with me? Would it be right? And did King call me a bitch? You know what yeah he works for someone who kidnapped us and took control of our lives so if I can get some revenge while and possibly escape then I will? 

“Let’s do this.”

“Really Nala really?” Star asked

“Yeah really. So how do I do this?”

“Finally you're asking the right questions. I will help you with that.” Nova smirked

“What's that supposed to mean?”

“It means that you're not the most aware when it comes to romance.”

“Oh and you are haha ok.”

“Yes I get girls ok so I think I know what im talking about.”

“You know what ok Nova whatever you say.”

“Yeah, I know. Step one is flirt with him.”

Dylan interrupted our argument and told us that Kal was coming.

“Ok Nala remember the plan, think about what's at stake here,” King said

“I won’t let you guys down. Now go I got this.”

Kal walked in smiling and he didn't look horrible and normally I would never tell him that but I guess today that's about to change.

“Hey, there Kal you look handsome today.”

He looked at me and raised his eyebrow,” Uh what?”

I cleared my throat and started again, “I said you look handsome today.”

“Uh, Nala are you feeling ok? You never compliment me.”

I took a deep breath and started to walk towards him, I placed my hand on his chest and looked up, “Well that's all gonna change today baby.” I almost threw up saying that

“Baby? Oh, well not that I'm complaining but what changed.

“I just realized that I need to stop hiding my feelings for you.” I took hold of his hands and looked into his eyes while trying to be as romantic as I possibly could without throwing up, “Don’t you feel the same?”

Kals POV:

I’m freaking out right now I had hoped she felt the same way but I wasn't sure but now I am.

“Yes love of course I feel the same.”

I brought her hands up and kissed them. Suddenly she turned around. Had I offended her? Maybe that was too forward for her

“Nala are you ok? I’m so-.”

“Shut up Kal, just don't talk.”

She stood on her tippy toes and she kissed me. I grabbed her face and instantly kissed her back. It was pure magic. I've never felt happier than at this moment with her.

Nala's POV:

I kissed him. And I know that this is a part of the plan but what I don't know is why I don't hate it. I pulled away and he was smiling and so was i. I have no idea what's going on with me right now but I need to stay focused.

“Um so Kal would you maybe I don't know wanna go for a swim with me?”

“Yeah, I would love that.”

He looked at me and took my hand. We walked towards the lake he had made for me while doing that we passed my friends and they were smiling at me. I looked at Nova and smirked and he smiled back. Once we arrived I dived in and transformed. I watched as he took off his shirt. Oh my God was I drooling? No of course not it's just the water.

“Are you ready for this?” He asked

“Yeah show me what you got boy?”

He jumped in making a big splash. I couldn't help but laugh. Seriously what the hell is wrong with me? He swam close and kissed me.

“What was that for?”

“Why not?”He smirked

“No reason I guess.” I smiled and lay on my back and he did the same. I hope this works
