Chapter 15
''Montecarlo''

Javier assisted me again when I went up to ride my horse. It's already getting dark. Nag-aagaw na ang kulay kahel na kalangitan at ang dilim. Ito din ang mga oras na kailangan ko nang umuwi. Lalo na't mangangabayo lamang ako.

''Wala ako bukas.'' aniya nang bitiwan ang aking kamay.

I raised my eyebrow at him as I watch him take a grip on the leash. Hinawakan niya iyon para pigilan ang paggalaw ng kabayo. Kung hindi lamang siya nagsalita, ang buong atensyon ko ay nandon na lang siguro.

''So?''

''Baka mapadaan ka dito.'' aniya, halatang may ibig sabihin ang sinabi.

I chuckled.

Umangat ang madilim at suplado niyang tingin. I pursed my lips to prevent myself from laughing even more.

''Saan ka pupunta?'' matapang kong tanong.

''I'll be with my grandfather.''

I didn't expect him to answer my question. I thought he'll even ignore it. Dahil sino nga ba ako para pakialaman pa ang mga bagay na tulad noon?

But he answered.

''All day?'' I probed.

''Yes.''

''Hmm, okay.'' muli kong sinulyapan ang lupain sa aming gilid. Ilang sandali akong natahimik bago nagsalita. ''But I want to explore more of this land.''

''When?'' he asked and let go of the leash, letting me take control of the horse. I saw him put his hand inside his pockets. The move made him manlier than he already is.

How dashing. When will I ever get used to that handsome face? I think I can't be ever used to it.

''Bukas.''

''Mangangabayo ka pa rin bukas papunta dito?''

''Yeah, it's fun.'' I smirked at him. ''And why, did you think I came here for you?''

I watch how his whole face frowned. His eyes turned sharp and it's clear that it was directed to me. Halos mapangiti ako dahil natutuwa ako sa mga reaksyon niya.

''Don't come here tomorrow.'' matigas niyang sabi.

''Why, because you're not here?'' panunuya ko.

He didn't answer, it made me laugh like crazy. Tumigil din nang mapansing ako lang ata ang masaya. Why wouldn't I be? Javier's amusing these days.

''I'll accompany you when you explore.'' he said like it was his last card for this little argument.

''Really?''

''Yes.'' he answered. ''But not tomorrow.'',

Tumaas ang aking kilay. ''Hmm, I'll think about it.''
