''Go''

Umayos ako ng upo nang malapit na kami sa munisipyo. I pulled my phone out of my bag and texted Lolo to inform him of my arrival.

''This might be your lucky day, Vernaise.'' I heard Carlos said.

My forehead creased. His eyes were fixed in front. Sinundan ko ang kanyang tingin at habang mas papalapit ay naaninag ko si Javier na nakatayo sa may kalsada, sa labas lamang ng munisipyo.

I must be laughing so hard a while ago that my heart suddenly lost it focus and started to pound really hard. Mas tumindi iyon, when Carlos stopped the car just after passing slightly to where Javier is standing.

''Why are you stopping here?'' si Apollo.

''Hindi ba nagmamadali ka? I'll just park somewhere after dropping you both here. It'll be faster that way.''

Hindi ko na nalaman pa ang sagot ni Apollo dahil naging abala ako sa pagtingin sa likod.

Javier's clearly watching Carlos' jeep. Is this tinted? I think it is. But the look he's giving to the car, made me think like he knew I was there or I'm imagining things? It could also be that, he's not fond this car since it belongs to Carlos. Hindi ako sigurado kung ano ang dahilan kung bakit tila masama ang kanyang tingin.

''Do you mind if I carry your bag?''

''Huh? Oh, okay.''

I don't know the reason why Carlos, suddenly want to carry my bag, but I gave it to him anyway. Sabay na bumaba ang magpinsan. I was still busy watching Javier from the back when the door beside me magically opened.

I became even more confused and a bit dumbfounded when Carlos beside the car's door.

''Come on, princess.''

I frowned when he even held out his hand for me. Still, I took it. Tinulungan niya akong makababa kahit hindi naman na talaga kailangan. I heard how Apollo Montecarlo snorted beside him.

''Javier!'' Carlos suddenly called, smiling arrogantly at the man only a few feet away from us.

Napatingin din ako sa gawi nito. Isang mahinang singhap ang kumawala sa aking bibig. Javier's intense eyes watched me before acknowledging Carlos' greeting.

''Montecarlo.'' Javier slightly nodded his head before his eyes went back to me.

''Long time no see.'' kaswal na sabi ni Carlos.

Bumaba ang tingin niya. Sinundan ko iyon at nakita ang kamay kong nakahawak pa din sa kamay ni Carlos. This Montecarlo even had the audacity to gripped my hand tightly when he noticed that I'm trying to discreetly pull back my hand.

Nang umiwas ito ng tingin ay marahas akong bumalik sa lalaking nasa aking tabi.

''What do you think you're doing?'' I whispered harshly.

I slightly brushed his hand away but he didn't let it go! What is this man playing?

He chuckled. ''I'm trying to piss him off.''

I stepped on his foot. Tsaka pa niya lamang binitawan ang kamay ko. He let out a groan which I didn't mind caring about.

''Damn girl, your heels hurt.''

I flipped my hair, rolling my eyes at him. I started to walk towards Javier.

''Jav...'' I called, making his nickname sound soft and endearing in my mouth.
