I didn't punch Finn if that's what you are wondering. Maybe I should've but I got distracted by the small human jumping into the pool.
"Whee!!!"
I whirl around to see who catapulted in at record breaking speeds, only to discover it's just George. I sigh in relief.
Wait. George. He's tiny. And really young. Can he even swim?!?!
Even with all my thoughts dashing around, I come to one conclusion, the kid should probably not be in there by himself.
As I reach this conclusion, I whip around to make sure he isn't drowning, all thoughts of arrogant Finn forgotten. George is happily splashing around, laughing his head off, with little fish floaties on his arms.
I sigh in relief, and then turn back around to confront Finn. He catches me glaring at him and grabs his towel heading for the door.
"Get your ass over here mister. I ain't done with you yet."
He stops and turns around to face me, a stubborn look on his face as he crosses his arms. The muscles in his arms flex as he shifts and I have to tell myself to get calm the fuck down when my stomach lurches at the sight.
"Just buy me some ice cream and I'll never mention this to anyone." We stare each other down as George splashes behind us.
He sighs and rolls his eyes, finally caving. "Fine." Obviously done with me he turns back around to go inside.
I snatch his arm and pull him toward the pool. "Oh no you don't. Get over here. I'll even let you throw me in."
He glances at my hand holding onto his arm before sweeping me up into his arms bridal style. I try to ignore how warm his skin is as he takes two steps toward the pool before heaving me into the water.
I barely manage to plug my nose before I hit the water with a huge splash.
He jumps in right after me, dousing me in more water. I shake my head as he resurfaces and with a glare me, floats on his back.
George happily floats like his brother in the deep end. I smack Finn on the chest to get his attention, who drifted near me on his back.
He grunts, holding his chest likes he's in pain as he stands up to glare at me. I get distracted for a second by the water sluicing down all his sexy muscles. I have to tilt my head way back to look at him. He glowers down at me. "What?"
I bite the inside of my cheek uncertainly and turn to watch George swim before speaking. "Should George be in the deep end? He's only six, and well... I don't know he's pretty small and even though he's got his floaty things I'm still worri-"
Finn bumps my shoulders gently. "He's fine. We're both here watching him, if anything happens we can jump in and get him, ok?" He looks me in the eye to make sure I understand. I nod my head dumbly, distracted by his crystal blue eyes for a second.
What's a girl to do.
He turns away from me suddenly, back to watch George. "You sound like my mother, constantly worrying about this and that." I glare at him out of the corner of my eye, still watching George.
"Do you want me to punch you?" I say, turning to look at him, eyebrows raised.
He smirks but puts his hands up in surrender. "No, no. No thank you."
I give him one last glare. "Then shut up." He does a zipping motion across his mouth, then pretends to lock it and throw the key away over his shoulder. I just smile and roll my eyes.
I have to admit, he's pretty dorky even if he's an ass sometimes.
We spend the next half an hour swimming around and under George, making sure he doesn't drown. I give him piggyback rides in the water, which he really loves. Finn proves to be a pretty capable co-parent whenever George gets a little grumpy, calming him down and distracting him.
