We walk into the kitchen I am hit by an very, very good smell. I lick my lips and turn to Mark. "What is that smell?"
He gives me a wicked smile. "My mom's secret recipe for lasagna. It's delicious."
I laugh. "I don't doubt it! By the way it smells I can tell its gonna be good!"
Everyone was already seated and a couple of the guys shoot me a glare. I resist the strong urge to flick them off. "Sit down dear, we were just going to get started." Molly says smiling.
There were steaming plates of delicious looking lasagna in front of everyone.
George gives me a toothy grin and a little wave from his seat by Conner. I wave back and smile at Conner too.
Mark plops down on a chair then he notices I don't have a chair myself, jumps back up and disappears down the hall. "I'm gonna go get you a chair." He says over his shoulder.
I just stand there awkwardly with my eyes cast down at the floor waiting for him to come back. Angel is purring and wrapping herself around my legs. I smile down at her.
Mark appears, dragging a chair behind him. I thank him and slide the chair in between him and Evan. Evan glares at me as I sit down, but I decide to ignore him.
Angel sits down next to my chair and patiently watches me as we say grace.
As soon as Tom says "Amen" I pick up my fork and shovel the food in my mouth as fast as I can. I am starving after working with Storm and all the drama from today.
Halfway through my food I pick out a little piece of meat for Angel. I hold it in my hand as she gratefully licks it up. She purrs as a thank you.
Gosh, I love my cat.
I continue to eat but slower this time, so I won't choke.
I look up and notice that Tyler and Jonathan are staring me oddly from across the table. When they see I am looking at them they look down abruptly, smiling.
I am still looking at them when I hear Angel hiss. At the same time I feel something cool sliding along my leg.
I reach down to feel it. I realize immediately what it is and fling it up on the table scattering my food.
It's a gross snake.
Molly shrieks and jumps back her chair, sliding across the floor. The whole table erupts into chaos.
Evan takes off, probably to hide, Mark jumps away then rushes into the kitchen probably for a knife. Somebody is screaming.
The food is literally everywhere.
Angel jumps up on the table hissing her ears flat against her head ready to kill it.
Such a faithful cat.
I pick up my fork and raise above my head, preparing to stab it.
"Wait! That's our snake!" Tyler jumps up and rushes around the table towards me.
I stand there with my arm still raised.
What the??? What the hell does he have a snake for??
He scoops up the snake and hurries up the stairs to his room.
I slowly put the fork back down as the chaos continues to swirl around me. Angel sits down where my plate was and starts to wash herself as everyone else is still freaking out.
After about five minutes, Tom shouts for everyone to sit down. Tyler returns from his room and Evan sheepishly appears from the kitchen.
When everyone is sat down, Tom stands up with his hands on the table and looks from one boy to another. He points at Tylee and Jonathan. "You two are on clean up duty for a week." They start to complain but he silences them with a glare.
