my mother screams, forcing me to get to my feet and do as i'm told.
"y-yes mother?"
i think of all the possible things i could have done wrong this time.
as soon as i show my face, she slaps me, hard enough to make me fall to the ground and hit my head on the side of the glass table.

i scream in agony.
"IZUKU! LOOK AT THE MESS YOU'VE MADE NOW!" my mother yells, as she kicks my arm, reopening the cuts that were bandaged up.
excruciating pain strikes my arm, aching unbearably as i try to sit up.
"i'm going somewhere, i won't be back till tomorrow.
i expect this to be cleaned up by the time i get back!"
my mother scowls as she hits me in the head one last time before slamming the door.

numb tears fall down my face once again, my right arm unable to move from the pain.
even to my mother, i am nothing but a punching bag.

i crack a small smile and wipe my tears.

my fingers make their way to call the only contact in my phone. i put it on speaker. my arms were too weak to hold it up.
after 5 rings, he picks up.

i interrupt him.

there was a long silence at the end of the line, until it was broken when i repeat it once again with a low chuckle.
