black.
lights.
silence.

"kacchan! wait for me, kacchan!"
i spin around, laughing.
"come and get me, izuku!"
the air was warm, the summer sunlight radiates in the blue sky.
not a cloud in sight.
i climbed up the slide as fast as i could, trying to slow him down.
"that's not fair, kacchan!"
.swiftly, i climb up the bars that were holding the roof up.
i swing my legs up and straddle on top of it.
"ah-ha-ha-ha! i'm just like all might!" i yell at the top of the playground.
i watch izuku smile at me in awe, as he runs toward me.
"you're so cool, kacchan!"
things were much less complicated back then...
i wish i could live like this forever.

"ka..."
"katsuki!"
i jolt, awakening from my innocent dream.
drips and tubes were connected to my arms, i was tucked in a cold room that smelt like chemicals.
...hospital.
"katsuki!"
i was thrown into the arms of my mother, who was sitting beside me.
"katsuki i'm so glad you're okay!"
my lips go numb as what had happened earlier that night came back to haunt me.
i was scared to ask...
but not asking wasn't an option.
"m-mum...?" i tremble.
mum stares at me with wide eyes
"y-yes, katsuki?"
i hesitate. i was scared of what the answer was going to be.
"is..." a tear streaks down my face.
mum holds me in her arms immediately.
"i-is dek... i-izuku o-ok..?"
. . .
long pauses followed by loud sobs quickly answer my question.
"i'm s-so s-sorry k-ka-katsuki..."
fuck.
numb pain spreads through my heart, tears uncontrollably pour from my eyes.
"i-i did this..." i whispered in disbelief.
"katsuki... please don't blame yourself... when they found him it was out of anyone's han-"
"I WAS THERE WHEN HE WAS ALIVE! HIS LIFE WAS PRACTICALLY IN MY HANDS BUT- i couldn't..."
i trail off as my breathing started to become abnormal again, my mind went blank.
helpless tears fell down my face, until breathing too much felt like i wasn't breathing at all.
not again...
"katsuki? oh- oh god katsuki i'll go and get your medication, okay?"
