The car went over bumps as we left the state of Florida over to Texas. Our luggage filled up the car as the moving truck had the rest of our fill. It was only me, my dad, and our tiny Yorkie  named Teddy sat in my lap.
We had to stop by a few shitty hotels but it was the cheapest option. "Dad?" I asked, looking over to my father. "What is it, Brooklyn?" He seemed tired of driving, though excited, unlike myself.
"What's Texas like- what's HIGH-SCHOOL like??" I groaned, hating this moving thing all together. "You're asking too many questions. Everything will feel the same and in high school you'll make better friends."
I almost started to argue but noticed we drove inside a neighborhood. The sign in front of the neighborhood looked old, like it's been there forever. Though it read 'OAKS-DRIVE' on it. I would start to pout, still petting my dog.
We pulled up near a small house deeper in the neighborhood. The grass looked overgrown as the houses around it looked as if nobody nice lived inside.
