As I told Grant not to mess with me, he does the opposite. And I know he's aware of what might could happen if they find out what he's trying to do to me. No—he's not seducing me, not in that way because that's adult kind of thing and I know I'm still young enough not to level up into those kinds of behaviors. Anyway, I know Grant will not forget all about what we talked about and he just likes to piss me off when no one was looking. I'm not sure if he was giving me the favor of helping me on my project—I really don't know what his intentions are.
When we got down the stairs, my mom called me from the living room and I paved my way to see her but on the other hand, my eyes landed on the girl sitting across to her. She gave me a little wave and I did the same thing. Suddenly I felt Grant crashed behind my back and when he look in the same direction I was looking, his forehead creased but then he smiles.
"I invited Manon," Mom started. "Do you remember her?"
I nodded, "of course, she's my childhood friend." I muttered.
"Good thing I saw her in the neighborhood and might've thought to invite her because it is your birthday. I haven't seen her for such a long time so it's nice to see you again, Manon."
Manon giggles, she still has a baby face but fiercer. "No problem tita. I'll just spend my weekend here because I've been stressed by my school works and thought that I could get some rest visiting my family." She explains and then she looks at me, "happy birthday, Lili." She stood up from the couch and she walks towards me and gives me a kiss on the cheek. "We haven't seen each other for a long time, right?"
I nodded, I don't know what to feel—but kinda star struck because we haven't seen each other for months. She's more natural now and prettier. "Thank you, Manon." I smiled, "Yeah, you've changed a lot from the last time I saw you. You've got a blonde hair now, huh?" I mentioned 'cause her skin compliments that color of her hair. She's like a glowing diamond.
"It looks good to me, right?" she giggled, and then she shifted her eyes to the person behind me, to Grant. "And who's your friend here?" she queried.
I pulled Grant closer, "Ah, he's Grant. He's a senior from my school and he's helping me on my project and with that, I also invited him on my birthday."
She nodded, "Nice to meet you, Grant. I'm Manon." She introduced and handed her hands over to him.
Grant shakes her hand as well, "Well, nice to know you Manon." I look at their hands and it seems like Grant isn't removing his hand from her so I elbowed him. He looks into me from his side and he just smirked. Napailing na lamang ako sa kanya at binalik ang ngiti kay Manon.
When my Mom told us to go to the dining table to eat some of dishes they prepared for me. Pagkapasok pa lang namin ng kusina ay halos nangibabaw na ang iba't ibang amoy pero mas naakit ang mga mata ko sa carbonara na nakahain sa mesa. My mom prepared our plates as we sit on the table. Iniwan na lang din naman niya kaming tatlo sa mesa at saka naglagay na ng pagkain sa aming mga plato. I watched Grant as he seems to enjoy his food again, he slurps through the sauce of the pasta, and Manon was just being a lady-like. She's poised and well-mannered. Though I'm not saying Grant wasn't, he's just a boy in my eyes and he has a big stomach to fill.
