I'm in my English class and we were seated alphabetically. Anthony was seated on near the front row because his last name starts with letter D while I'm near with Allen who was three seats away but we couldn't change our seats to our classmates or have small chitchats because we have a terror professor who's the mind of being perfectionist and we couldn't miss her lecture because she gives quiz every after discussion and it's not something we want to miss out.
Allen told me that they know something about Grant and after hearing those words from him, I wanted to force him to say it into my face. Though he said to me that I should wait after class and now I couldn't even focus my head on our quiz.
I've got 21 over 30 on our quiz and they said that it wasn't bad because some even get a lower score than me. Though I'm not satisfied with my score and surely won't affect my grade and I can still do better than that, my head was just flying somewhere that I'm lost into the thoughts and I almost answered Grant's name on the paper. My professor was strict because our paper should have not erasures.
"Your score was not bad, mas mataas ka pa rin sa akin." Ani Allen.
Anthony sighed, "bakit hindi niyo ako tularan? I only have three mistakes—kung hindi lang mali ang spelling ko, I could've perfected the quiz but of course, not all of us can bear perfection."
"Can we just go to what you need to tell me before the class started," I said to Allen.
"Sabik lang alamin? I don't know why I feel like you've been interested in Grant lately. He's just a jerk known by many girls."
I didn't give a response. Hindi ko alam kung anong pinupunto niya roon.
"When we're in the guidance office earlier, we heard what happened to Grant earlier." Allen started, "when he was brought into the clinic, he was advised that he need to report it to the office so they can grant him an immediate action."
"And so, what really happened?" I asked.
"Grant was robbed." Anthony finally said. I gasped when he said that and they notice my sudden reaction because when I help Grant earlier, I never thought about him being robbed. I just thought that he might trip and fall on his face but it's worse than that.
"Then how he got those bruises?" I insist.
"He tried to defend himself with the robber and we've heard that it wasn't just one person who robbed him, there were two that's why he ended up getting those bruises. I guess I'll take what I said earlier, he fought but couldn't."
"What things robbers took from him?"
"We don't know about that," Allen said. "We didn't listen anymore when some officer was there to supervise us so we have to obey but that's what happened to him earlier. Too bad for him—he loses his pretty face now."
