- He's pretty straightforward and shows his love and concern through being strict with the gang, especially Ponyboy
- Can get jealous easily
- Sometimes wishes he and Paul we're still friends
- People make fun of his middle name, Shayne, and he hates that :/
- He swears a lot... in his head
- Sometimes blames himself for the death of Johnny and Dally
- Once on Halloween, all the gang went trick-or-treating except him and Dally, so he told Dal to put up a sign so kids don't come to their house, it said: 'We need this money to pay rent, and no we DON'T have any candy, you little shits.'
- ^^^ Doesn't hate kids though, he actually l o v e s them
- If anyone from the gang isn't in the house, he'll go looking for them at 10:00/10:30 at night, unless they told him where they're going
- There was this one time where Darry was watching Pony do track and he was sitting next to some other mom and she asked him 'Which one's yours?' And the only thing he thought about for the rest of the day was that he looked old for his age
