Y/N walked down the quiet sidewalk of Kokomo, Indiana. A smile on her lips as the warm sun beat on her skin and the wind comb through her hair. It was a beautiful day, barely a cloud in the sky. A perfect seventy degrees. A basket filled with vegetables and fruits she picked up from a farm stand nestled in the crook of her elbow. Needing the ingredients for a few meals and snacks she wanted to make for later on in the day. People bustled by, some waving and smiling. Sunglasses covered her eyes to protect her E/C orbs from the sun's harmful rays. She hummed as her pumps patted across the concrete. The day was perfect. But like most things perfect, they don't stay that way.

A loud commotion came into play when a large German Shepard began sprinting straight through, trampling and tripping multiple peoples on it's way. A man that was probably about twenty feet behind the dog was running shouting something that Y/N could not exactly hear just yet. Though, the pour girl didn't even have a second to dodge when that German Shepard barreled into her. Jumping on her and knocking her flat on her back. A grunt left her lips as she collided with the concrete ground. She braced herself for the pain that the large canine sinking his sharp teeth into her flesh. But, it never happened.

Instead, she felt the dog's wet tongue covering her face.  She opened her eyes just to see the dog's tongue right in her eyes. She felt her lipstick and mascara smudge. Her basket at flown to the side, spewing out all the fresh fruits and veggies she had just gotten. Most likely ruining all of them. There just went a good three dollars. She tried pushing the dog off, but it was too big compared to her smaller frame. So the canine continued to slobber all over her face.

The sound of heavy feet running towards the stuck female was heard. "No Trigger, get off of her!" and after the stranger spoke, the dog was pulled up from her. She pushed herself up and wiped her face in disgust. Her makeup smudging more. Her sunglasses flew to wherever. Her eyes angry and her face red with embarrassment. She stood, flattening out her dress and looking at the stranger. Her hair was now a mess.

"What the hell is wrong with you and your dumb dog?!" Y/N shouted, getting closer to the man, who just attached a leash to his dog while looking at her. He felt awful as he saw her groceries all over the sidewalk.

"Look ma'am, I'm sorry. He broke off his leash, I'll give you money to buy you more groceries. Hell, I'll buy you a new dress and sunglasses. I'm just really, really sorry," he was sincere. Y/N immediately calmed down as she saw his sincere look and his tone of voice. She pressed her lips together and crossed her arms. She took a deep breath and sighed heavily. Now, out of her state of anger, she noticed the man's features. He was quite handsome, so maybe, she could use his guilt and sincerity to her advantage.

"How about instead buying me new groceries I was going to use for my dinner, you take me to dinner instead? The name is Y/N L/N," Y/N smirked, extending her hand. The man smiled, letting out a short breath of relief. He took her hand and shook it.

"Floyd Talbert. I might have to take you up on the after. Say, how about you write down your address, you get all changed up, and I'll pick you up at six?" he flirted. Quickly to Y/N's understanding that Mr. Floyd Talbert was in fact a ladies man. One that just a few seconds ago was a puddle of guilt. She smirked slightly and pressed her lips together, going to pick up her sunglasses that were on the concrete.

"Well Mr. Talbert, make it a date," she smiled, walking over to a little stand nearby, picking up a pencil and tearing a piece of paper. Quickly writing down her address and handing him the piece of paper. "But I suggest leave the dog," Y/N winked before putting on her sunglasses and using her thumb to wipe away the stray lipstick smudged on her chin. A smirk dashed on her lips as she turned and walked away. Leaving Floyd there, shocked at how fast things unfolded and joined back together. He just scoffed look down at his dog and patted his head.

"Good boy, Trigger. you got me a date!"

Y/N had just finished applying a victory red lipstick on her lips when she checked the time. Six on the dot. She slipped on some black pumps and bounced her hair slightly. Looking in the mirror, she made a satisfied hum as she saw her appearance. Picking up her perfume besides the mirror and sprayed a few pumps. And with that, a knock on her door was heard. She smiled as she walked over to the door. Grasping the doorknob and turning it, pulling open the door. There stood Floyd, a grin on his lips and a flower in his hand. It is funny to think that they only met earlier that day.

"Ready to go?" he asked. Y/N turned and grabbed her clutch bag and turned back to him. A smile on her lips as she placed a hand on his chest.

"Born ready," she responded, walking out of her house, closing the door behind her. With that the two took off walking down the sidewalk. Small talk was between the two. Floyd being as flirty as always, while Y/N played the same game.

The two went to a little bar that was nearby. It had a dance floor and everything. It was a little different than what Y/N thought of for a date, but she had an amazing night of fun, dancing, drinking, and laughs with her new special guy friend. Though, of course, the night grew late and Y/N needed to head home. So Floyd happily walked her home. And standing om her doorstep he was left staring at her with a goofy grin.

"Well, thank you Floyd for the amazing night. How about tomorrow night, same time? Maybe we could walk down to the park?" she offered taking a step closer to him. Floyd smiled and nodded.

"Can do Miss L/N, same time tomorrow," he reassured. Y/N kissed his cheek softly and pulled back. Walking to her door. Though before entering her house, she turned and looked at him. He had his hand on the cheek she had just had her lips on. She smirked.

"You can bring Trigger along this time. Just make sure to keep him on a leash," she spoke, walking into her house and shutting the door behind her. Leaving Floyd still as a loss for words. He smiled and turned and began walking back to his place. Maybe that day turned out to be perfect after all.
