Early in the morning, Trevor woke up to find his bedroom door opening from the outside. He pushed himself up a bit and quietly watched as the light filled the room.

"Trevor," Atticus mumbled, as he squinted to see his grandson.

"Is everything okay, Gramps?" Trevor yawned quietly.

"We have to get into town. It's time to buy fireworks and get groceries." Atticus replied.

"Okay. Give me five minutes. I'll be down soon." Trevor whispered. The door closed as Atticus went to wake up Percy and Brantley. Trevor moved slowly from the bed, but as he went to stand he felt that Olivia's hand was wrapped around his wrist.

"Liv," Trevor whispered.

"What?" Olivia yawned.

"Let my arm go. I've gotta get up."

"Where are you going?" Olivia asked, as she sat up slowly and looked at her boyfriend.

"My brothers, father, grandfather, and I are going into town. We have stuff we have to get to prepare for our cookout and stuff."

"Can I come?" Olivia questioned.

"Keep sleeping, baby. It's not going to be fun in town. My father and grandfather argue, and Gramps argues with the butcher. It's an adventure you can take part in next year." Trevor smiled. He leaned down and kissed his girlfriend several times, before finally feeling as her hand let go out of his wrist.

He went into the bathroom to start getting ready, as Olivia moved into the middle of the bed and fell asleep quicker than she thought she would.

At around seven, Olivia woke up and hesitantly went and showered before getting dressed for the day. She settled for jean shorts and a UCLA t-shirt before heading downstairs. She carried her bag that held all of her medication, before slipping into the kitchen to take it before anyone noticed.

Trevor's family obviously knew about her need for life-saving medicine, but Olivia didn't know if Pamela or Atticus knew.

Olivia had set her medicine out in the order she had to take them, before going and filling a glass with water.

"Atticus is always leaving his medicine out! He takes so many of these, that it's not even funny." Pamela sighed, as she came into the kitchen and saw the pill bottles sitting on the counter. Olivia was going to bring her pill container, but she knew she'd lose it somewhere if she wasn't careful.

"Those aren't Atticus'." Olivia trailed off, as she quickly moved over to the counter as Pamela grabbed one of the bottles and read it.

"These are yours?" Pamela asked with wide eyes, as Olivia took her birth control and slipped it into her pocket to try to ease her embarrassment.

"Yeah... I have to take a lot of medicine." Olivia breathed.

"Are you addicted?" Pamela questioned with wide blue eyes.

"No, ma'am! I had a heart transplant after Christmas. I had a bad heart when I was born, then I got a transplant but my body rejected it when I stopped my medicine, so now I have pills I take to protect my new heart." Olivia breathed.

Pamela looked at her and narrowed her eyes. She hadn't seen someone as young as Olivia take this many pills without being addicted.

"Why didn't my grandson or daughter tell me?" Pamela questioned as she kneaded her graying eyebrows together.

"I don't know, ma'am... I just know that if I don't take all of these soon, I won't feel right for the rest of the day. I have a schedule that I have to stick too." Olivia breathed. Pamela handed Olivia her pill bottle back hesitantly, before watching as Olivia packed up her medicine and headed upstairs with her glass of water.

Pamela went and found her daughter out on the back porch, her hands cupping a cup of steaming coffee. She sank down beside her daughter, before staring at her until Becky turned to look at her mother.

"Yes?" Becky asked.

"Why didn't you tell me that Trevor's girlfriend had a heart transplant?"

"Because it's not a conversation starter, Mom."

"I had to find out when I saw her lining all her pills up! And she probably thought I'm stupid, but I saw the birth control box she had." Pamela sighed. Becky's eyes went wide as she looked at her mother.

She had assumed that Olivia and Trevor had started to have sex, but she didn't expect for her mother to find out.

"Olivia is still the sweet girl that you met last night. She just takes medicine to keep her alive. And it's important that she takes those pills because Trevor had such a hard time when Olivia almost died."

"You should have told me!"

"What should I have told you? That Olivia fainted on the back porch of our house and almost died? You didn't even know who she was until last night!" Becky exclaimed, before hearing the door open.

"Uh, is everything okay?" Olivia breathed nervously.

"Everything is fine, honey. Would you like to join me in heading into town? I have to pick up a few things we forgot to pack." Becky spoke, and Olivia nodded quickly.

"I'd like that." She breathed.

Later, Trevor and the rest of the men got home. He helped unload everything, before heading upstairs to find Olivia. He opened the door and stopped when he saw Olivia laying on her side in the bed as tears slipped down her cheeks.

"Liv?" Trevor breathed. Olivia sat up quickly and wiped her tears away before looking at her boyfriend.

"Hey, babe. How was your trip to town?" Olivia sniffled.

"It was okay... but what's wrong?" Trevor asked.

"I'm fine. Just tired." Olivia breathed.

"You aren't just tired. Liv, what's wrong?"

"I think your grandma hates me..."

"What? Why would Gram hate you?" Trevor asked.

"She asked me if I was addicted to pills because she saw all my medicine... and then she also saw my package of birth control so that wasn't fun." Olivia sniffled.

"Liv-"

"Why didn't you warn them ahead of time that I had a heart transplant? That I was on medicine?" Olivia whimpered.

"Because when this all happened, I didn't know if you would make it. So once you got better, I forgot." Trevor frowned.
