Courtney helped Georgia out of the car before leading her over to where Olivia was standing. Olivia looked at the little girl and swallowed hard when she saw the bruises covering her face. Olivia wanted to just lift the little girl up and hold her as tightly as possible, but she knew that would cross the line.

"Georgia, this is Olivia Langan, and that is her husband Trevor. They will be your foster parents." Courtney spoke softly as she caressed the girl's messy blonde hair. It was short in some spots and long in others. It was as if someone just went crazy when cutting it.

"Hi, Georgia. It's so nice to meet you." Olivia smiled as she squatted down to get to the girl's level. She quickly buried her face into Courtney's leg as she clung to her waist.

"She's shy, but she'll warm up, eventually. Hopefully, before we move her placement." Courtney whispered.

"Why don't we head upstairs... do you need to look at her room before you leave her with us?" Trevor asked as he held a garbage bag in his hand. Olivia looked at it and tried to not react. He hated how these kids got pulled from foster homes with only a dumb garbage bag full of their belongings.

"I will have to look and make sure there are no dangers. But you passed your first home inspection, so you should be all good."

Upstairs, Olivia made a sandwich for Georgia who was hiding in the corner of the living room with her arms wrapped tightly around her bag.

"So Courtney gave us the all clear. She's going to talk to Georgia and then take off." Trevor spoke, as he came into the kitchen. Olivia nodded slowly before sighing.

"She's so small for being seven. And she's scared... Trevor, I hope that we can really change her life..."

"If you have anything to say about it, it will happen. Now, do you think she likes milk? Because I'm willing to let her use my Pooh Bear mug." Trevor smiled.

"Honey, you are twenty-three... you could get a different mug and let her use your teddy bear mug." Olivia teased. She leaned close and kissed him softly before hearing Courtney say their names. Olivia grabbed the towel and wiped her hands off on it as they moved towards the living room.

"Okay, everything looks good and Georgia is going to be on her best behaviour, correct?" Courtney spoke, looking at the little blonde at her side.

"Can't I stay with you?" Georgia whispered.

"No, honey. You need to stay with Mr. and Mrs. Langan. They are nice and will take good care of you. Mrs. Langan made you a sandwich so your belly stops making noise. Okay?"

"But-"

"You will be perfectly fine here. You will be happy."

After Georgia hesitantly ate her sandwich and drank a mug full of milk, she was laid down in bed by Olivia and Trevor. Then once Georgia was sleeping, Olivia and Trevor went to bed themselves. But not for long. Georgia woke up an hour later screaming her head off.

"Georgia!" Olivia exclaimed, as she quickly walked into the little girl's room and turned on the light. She ran to her bedside as Trevor walked around to the other side of the bed and got ready to catch her if she flailed enough that she fell off the bed.

"Get away! Don't touch me there!" Georgia screamed over and over again. Those words broke Olivia and Trevor's hearts as they thought about Georgia getting more than just beaten.

"Honey, it's Olivia. Please wake up! You are safe! We won't hurt you." Olivia spoke quickly, as she reached out and caressed Georgia's tangled hair.

"Stop! Don't!" She continued to scream. Olivia grabbed her by her shoulders and squeezed them before shaking her ever so slightly as she gently said her name. She kept doing that until a gasp left Georgia's bloody lips and she finally opened her eyes.

She frantically looked around the room before laying her eyes on her newest foster parents.

"I'm sorry." She sobbed.

"Oh, Georgia. Don't apologize. You are scared. That is nothing you should be sorry about." Olivia cooed softly.

"Do you want to sleep in our bed tonight?" Trevor asked, unsure of what to do.

"I wet myself." She whispered. Olivia frowned before looking at Trevor.

"Trevor, why don't you go get the extra set of sheets. I'll get Georgia cleaned up and then you can change the sheets. Okay?"

"Can do. I'll be back soon." Trevor smiled softly before ruffling Georgia's hair and walking out of the room.

"I ruined your bed." Georgia whispered, as Olivia helped her off the bed. She had Georgia stand still as she grabbed her clean pajamas.

"We can clean it up. No big deal. Do you have accidents a lot?" Olivia questioned, as she grabbed Georgia's hand and led her towards the bathroom.

"Sometimes... I'll try not to let it happen again."

"If it happens again, it won't be a big deal. Now, do you want to take a shower? I can get it all set up for you."

"You have a shower?" She asked with wide eyes.

"Yeah... have you never taken a shower before?" Olivia asked.

"I usually only use a bucket and a wash cloth." She admitted quietly.

"Not anymore."

Georgia eventually went down for the rest of the night, but Olivia and Trevor couldn't sleep. All they could do is think about what happened to Georgia before and how absolutely scared she was of anyone. Even Trevor and Olivia.

"I feel so bad for her." Olivia breathed.

"I do too. She is going to warm up easier to you compared to me. And we should really get in contact with Courtney and tell her about tonight."

"What if she thinks we want her to take Georgia? Because I don't want her to leave. I don't want her to get hurt again. Trevor, she was shocked when I asked her if she wanted to take a shower. She had only used a bucket and a cloth at all her other homes."

"I'll make sure to tell her that we don't want her to leave... but she needs to know that the abuse happened in a different way too."
