Trevor stood in front of a mirror, in his childhood bedroom, tying his new silk tie for tonight's special occasion. The gorgeous ring safely tucked in the inner pocket of his suit jacket. The young man thought he'd feel nervous, thought he'd be a shvitzing mess, but he's the opposite, somehow he's cool, collected, and calm. Trevor turned to put on his cufflinks and caught his mother watching him from the door.

"Hi, " he smiled brightly, "are you guys all ready to go?"

"Percy is helping Brantley with his tie and Sophia is just finishing her hair, " Becky smiled, "are you nervous?"

"The opposite, actually, I feel calm and collected like this is exactly what I should be doing right at this time in my life. I love her, mom... I love her more than life, and with all this love I need to lock her down and make her mine."

"You're a hidden romantic just like your father, " a sigh escaped the older woman's lips, "and just as bad at straightening your own tie as him too."

The pair shared a laugh as Becky moved into the room and straightened Trevor's tie. Taking a step back to look over her tall handsome son she saw his childhood flash before her eyes. There was a time in his life when he was shorter than his mom, a time when he was her only child, a time when he was still a little kid living at home, but now he's officially taking another step to flee the nest.

"Twenty years ago we were celebrating your first Christmas and now we're here, you're about to propose to the love of your life and completely leave the nest."

"Mom, don't cry, " Trevor smiled, hugging his mother tightly against his chest, "I'm still your little boy no matter how old and grown-up I am."

"I'll try to avoid crying, but I can't make any promises. You're my first baby, my teacher, my mothering coach. You and I, we've had all your firsts together and this is just another one for the books."

"Momma, " Trevor smiled, "I love you."

"I love you too, sweet boy, " Becky pressed a kiss to his cheek, "but you better get going, you don't want to be late."

"No, I don't. I love you and will see you at Central Park in a little bit, " Trevor smiled brightly, buttoning his suit jacket before descending down the stairs.

Trevor drove to Olivia's parent's house and the closer he got the more nervous he became. His stomach churning and his palms sweaty, he was starting to worry about her answer to the big question. He thought back to a few months ago, to their friend's courthouse wedding, when she said she wasn't ready to get married, but this isn't a surprise wedding, it's just a proposal.

Trevor eventually arrived at the home and parked in the driveway before cutting the engine to his Jeep. He quickly gathered himself before getting out and climbing the snow-dusted stairs to the front door of the Benson home.

"Hey, you made it, " Olivia smiled brightly, looking absolutely gorgeous in a red dress.

"I did, " Trevor smirked, leaning in for a quick kiss, "are you almost ready? We don't want to be late."

"I just need to put in some earrings, I'll be right back. Mom and Dad are in the kitchen if you want to say hi before we go."

Olivia disappeared back upstairs while Trevor made his way into the kitchen. Serena and Christian were standing in the kitchen frosting Christmas cookies and laughing about some story the latter was telling.

"Trevor, " Serena smiled, "nervous?"

"It all feels just right, my palms are a little sweaty, but other than that I'm good, " Trevor smiled, hugging his girlfriend's parents.

"Good, that's exactly how it should feel, " Christian nodded, "so we'll meet you guys in forty minutes?"

"Yes sir, " Trevor smiled as Olivia's heeled boots clicked down the stairs.

"I'm ready to go, " the young girl quipped, flipping her curls over her shoulders.

"We'll catch y'all later, " Trevor smiled with a wink before following his girl to the door.

"Have fun you two, be safe, " Christian called as the front door shut.

Trevor drove around the decorated city, he and Olivia talking about the elegant lighting and beautifully decorated trees. The pair drove for a while before Olivia made an observation.

"Aren't we supposed to be going to dinner?"

"Yeah, our reservations aren't until eight, so I figured driving around and killing time looking at the city would be a good start to our evening."

"I see, trying to be a romantic are we?"

Olivia giggled as Trevor smiled, "yes. I also figured we could take a little walk through central park."

"Sounds like a plan to me, Mr. Romantic, " Olivia smiled, squeezing Trevor's hand.

Time was ticking as the couple walked through Central Park, Trevor had spotted the two photographers he had hired for the proposal and as they made it to the bridge he knew it was time. On the other side of the bridge were his family and hers, both of them awaiting the proposal.

"Olivia, " Trevor spoke as they got to the center of the bridge.

"Yeah?" Olivia smiled as Trevor turned her to face him in the middle of the bridge.

"Olivia, I love you. I love you more than life itself. Over the last year, I have watched our love for each other grow and blossom into something I never want to lose. Olivia, you have matured me, you have made me stronger, you have made me a better man, a better lover, and a better friend. You have made me a dream chaser and you are in all of my dreams. Olivia, I love you, I love us, and I already love our future together, so, " Trevor took a knee at Olivia's feet, "Olivia Margaret Benson, will you do me the honor, and marry me?"

Olivia felt her heartbeat rapidly and loudly against her chest. She was shaking as tears of shock and happiness rolled down her cheeks. She tried to speak but could only nod.

"Yes, " she eventually squeaked out.

Trevor's smile was bright as he slipped the rock onto her finger. Both of their families made their way up onto the bridge and Olivia broke into sobs.

"You invited my parents, Trevor, " Olivia shook, burying her face in his chest, "thank you for letting them share this moment with us."

"Of course, baby, " Trevor smiled.
