I was awoken by one of the flight attendants.

"Ma'ma, the flight is over. Thank you for flying with us." She said.

I had forgotten I was on a plane. I opened my eyes and looked around. Everyone was already off of the plane. I looked at the flight attendant. Her name tag read Julie.

"Oh I'm so sorry, Julie. Thank you for waking me up." I said.

She helped me grab my bags and I walked through the runway.

As I walked through the airport, I saw a 49ers team shop. I started tearing up. It reminded me of Andrew.  I stood in front of the store, looking into the glass at the big poster in the window. I swallowed hard and walked past it. I had to take a few stops before I went home.

I grabbed a taxi, and drove to Mrs.West's house.

As we were driving, the driver rolled down the windows as we drove along the shoreline. I could smell the sweetness of the ice cream and candy, and the saltiness of the ocean. I took in a deep breath, taking in all of the sweet the scents. I looked out the window, gazing at the beautiful scenery.

If only Andrew was here

I thanked the cab driver, and grabbed my bags. I walked up the steps of Mrs.West's house, and lightly knocked on the door. She opened it, smiling brightly. I faked a smile, and gazed at her. She quickly went from a smile, to a frown.

I started crying again.

"Come in, deary. I'm very sorry  about what happened."

"No, I'm sorry, Mrs.West. You lost your only son." I said.

"Not my only." She said.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"Come inside, dear. I'll make some tea."

We walked into her kitchen, and she started making tea.

"I had another son. Daniel." She said as she filled up the tea pot with hot water.

"What happened to him?" I asked.

"Well. He died very young."

She took a deep breath as she put the tea-pot on the stove, and started heating it up.

"Daniel was a shy boy. He was really smart though. He only had one friend, Ben. He was an athlete. Big and strong, on the football team too. There was a big party on a Friday night, June 8th, 2009, to be exact. All of the popular people were there. The football team, basketball team, all of the cheerleaders. He claims anyone who is anyone was going to be there. So I let him go.They all drank, a lot. He came home, totally drunk. He had some wine. And a lot of beer and whiskey."

The tea-pot starting singing, so she picked it up and poured the water into two cups.

"Here you go." She said as she handed me a cup.

"Thank you." I said as I took a sip.

"He came home, and I immediately sent him to bed. The next morning, I went in to check on him, and he was having a seizure. We took him to the hospital. I stayed next to him, the whole time. The doctors said he passed away in his sleep. Peacefully. I'm just glad he went like that. He was only 17 years old." She said.

She started crying. I went over to her and hugged her.

"I'm so sorry, Mrs.West." I said.

"It's okay, dear."

We sat in silence for a few minutes.

"Mrs.West, would you like to go to lunch? My treat." I said.

She smiled and replied, "That would be lovely. Let me get my purse."
