As she played with Jungkook's hair, her mind couldn't help but wonder; how did she never develop feelings for this boy?

Soon after the boys left, Ronnie fell asleep with Jungkook in her lap, still in the same position with her back propped up against the headboard.

It was now Friday morning, Jungkook's eyes opened slowly until he realised he wasn't in his bed. Gradually, his eyes adjusted to the actually familiar surroundings. Once he realised he was in Ronnie's room, he clowned himself for thinking he was in a very unfamiliar room. Jungkook took a deep breath and pushed himself off Ronnie's lap. The tall male made his way towards the kitchen, seeking a glass of water. He knew his way around the house well, since he was always there, either sleeping over or just hanging out. Grabbing a tall glass out of one of the cupboards, Jungkook fell deep into his thoughts about Ronnie. He was thinking of his feelings towards the girl, thinking of what it would be like to date her - his best friend of almost 18 years. He thought of all the things they could do together, like go out on dates, take walks by the beach, cuddle and watch movies. His mind even touched on the thought of them getting intimate together, causing a shiver to run down his spine - partly from the excitement, and partly because he knew it would only ever happen in his dreams.

Suddenly, shaking him out of his thoughts, Ronnie walked down the stairs. She was dressed differently, now wearing a hoodie that didn't look like it belonged to her, and a pair of shorts, not exactly contrasting her sweatpants and crop top from earlier. "Hey," she greeted Jungkook, also searching for a glass. "Morning," he replied while taking a seat at the kitchen island, sipping the water in his cup. "How'd you sleep?" Ronnie quizzed, as she walked over to the fridge and took out a carton of apple juice. "You had apple juice this whole time?" Jungkook screeched, shocked at the unexpected realisation. "Oh, and I slept pretty well. Your lap is very comfortable," he added, chuckling a little at the end. "Ah, that's good. Your hair is very soft," a small giggle escaping her lips. Ronnie reached up and grabbed another glass from the cupboard above the stove. She poured some apple juice into the extra glass and handed it to Jungkook. The boy gasped, his eyes widened as he took a sip of the fresh apple juice. He smiled like a small child, his youthful side jumping out at the nostalgic taste of apple. The two stayed in the kitchen for a little while, laughing and joking around. They both had huge grins plastered on their faces.

School starts in two days and Ronnie was yet to do all the summer reading. The teen was sat on her bed, the 400-page book in her hand, thoughts along the lines of "What if I just don't do it?" running through her head. Ronnie never paid attention to her studies, however, she was never the type to fail, yet she'd never pass with a flying A+. Most of the time she achieved Bs, or even As if she revised for an exam. But this year was the last year at Cape Side High, her senior year. After these 12 months, she would be on her way to a university. Ronnie wasn't passionate about anything except photography. It was the one thing that distracted her from reality. Not that she had any major problems, but whenever she needed to get away she knew that photography was her escape. The girl would photograph anything - people, rural and urban areas, street art, anything that she found interesting. Taehyung and Ronnie were both also interested in art, and always thought they'd go to the same college as they had similar aspirations. Photography was the way Ronnie hoped to take, and although her mother wished she'd follow her route in medicine, she accepted her daughter's dreams and would do anything to help her fulfil them.

Currently, the brunette's head was hanging off the side of her bed, attempting to persuade herself to read the compulsory book. She sighed, opening the paperback to its first page and reading the opening sentence. "A few miles south of Soledad, the Salinas River drops in close tothe hillside bank and runs deep and green.", the first sentence read. The book she had to read was Of Mice and Men - a classic. Yet again, the teen sighed deeply, her eyes rolling far into her skull. She tackled the sentence once more, opening her eyes wider than before trying to get the words to stick.

After multiple failed attempts, Ronnie chucked the book on the desk and walked downstairs. The girl plopped down on the sofa and turned on her favourite k-drama. The boys often recommended them to her since all of them were at least half Korean - most of them even spoke it fluently. Ronnie's mom was American, however, she often heard that her father was from a bunch of European countries - a bit of everything - yet she never really discovered where exactly he was from. It now didn't bother the brunette, as she, and her mother, moved on from Ronnie's father leaving them. He still sends cards for some birthdays and sometimes for Christmas, but Ronnie never bothered replying, nor did her mom. The man left just a few months after Ronnie turned 10, in May. Lightly saying, Ronnie had a touch summer. In those three months, she had to help her mother cope with the sudden divorce, lost a few close friends and fortunately became closer with the boys. The eight were friends since they were little, however, they grew closer that summer.

For the rest of Friday, Ronnie continued to switch between shows and movies, only really finishing two full movies. She fell asleep on the couch, the remote in her hand and her head resting comfortably on some pillows she brought from her bedroom. The sound of keys jingling by the front door could be heard from the inside. Seconds later the door opened, revealing Ronnie's mom, Agnes, as she was walking past the threshold. It was around 8 pm, the elder finished seeing patients half an hour ago, however, there was some paperwork that needed signing and looking through. She walked into the living room to see her daughter fast asleep on the sofa. The older woman smiled fondly, before enveloping her in a blanket, which also came from the younger's bedroom. Before heading to her own bedroom, she pecked Ronnie's sleeping form on the forehead lovingly.
