During The Night (ON HOLD)

Chapter 3: Maya

My room was trashed in a matter of minutes. I mean it was already a mess, but now it looked like a werewolf came in here on a full moon.

Out of five hundred and twenty books, five somewhat mention the Keepers, and two mention the enhanced unlocking spell. Those books were the 'doesn't exist' books. Nobody has ever heard of the Keepers before unless you survived The Sleeping, but no one believes you because everyone who survived the The Sleeping, were old and went crazy a month after. I'm the youngest to ever survive and the strongest witch in my clan, but that doesn't mean they believe me when I say the Keepers are talking to me or keep showing up in my dreams. They think I'm going crazy like the others.

I took a lock from my closet (if you think that it's weird that I keep a lock in my closet, you are in for a treat) and locked it with another lock, than another one, and another one, and so on and so on, until I had a total of 50 locks locked together.

"Otključati" I mumbled. Half of the locks unlocked themselves and fell apart.

I sighed knowing it would happen before locking the locks up again. This time I locked them to the door.

"Dvostruko otključati," I tried again. Nothing happened. All the locks moved as if they were going to unlock, but stopped after a few seconds.

"God dammit!" I yelled. "Why won't this work?"

"Povećati!" I yelled out using one of my last options. If this didn't work, June and Annie wouldn't get their sun necklaces and we'd be limited to our travels making it easier for the Keeper to catch up to us.

The locks all started to glow a bright shade of yellow. The glowing didn't die down like it normally did after a few seconds. the glow stayed bright almost as if it was waiting for something.

"Otključati?" I almost questioned. "Otključati!" I yelled this time. All the locks broke in half and fell to the ground and the door the locks were hanging on flew right open.

"I did it!" I sang and danced around. I found the spell to get sun necklaces for Annie and June.

My happy parade was cut off by a loud cackle in the air. The room turned dark and smokey. "Well well, little one you got the spell to work, but we will find you and your friends. We will take your vampire friends and slowly suck the blood out of them like they did to our ancestors. Then we will take your little wolf friend and leave him to the wolves, like his ancestors did to ours. Then you, we will have you go though The Sleeping again. We will make sure all the pain from it leaves you crazy like everyone else and you will die slowly and painfully." A voice boomed.

"Go away!" I screamed covering my ears. "Odlazi! Go away! Odlazi! Odlazi!" I yelled at the top of my lungs hoping the voice would go away.

"Little, little Mayan, do you really think a simple spell like 'go away' will make me actually leave?" The voice asked. "Mayan I have been around before the vampires were destroying villages and the witches were coming into clans. You can't beat me. No one can." The voice laughed evilly making Maya whimper in fear.
