Sorry, everyone for not updating last week. It was my birthday, and me and my family were out of town. The place we stayed at had no WiFi, and we got home only a few days ago. I know this is mostly just excuses to most people, but I'm really sorry and I'll try to make this a long chapter. Also I'm writing on my phone so sorry if it's sloppy.

"Junipher!" My mom screamed at Annie and me as we ran into the woods.

We ran until we couldn't breath anymore, and our foreheads beaded with sweat.

"What are you two young ladies doing out here?" A mysterious voice asked, startling them.

"Who are you? Where are...." Annie trailed off as a tall lean man stepped out from behind a tree. His nose was pointed and his eyes were mean and cold. His hair was gray although we couldn't have been older than twenty. His cold and mean eyes were navy blue.

"I'm Henry." He held out his hand. His eyes went from mean and cold to bright and friendly.

"I'm Annabelle and this is Junipher." Annie introduced us to Henry.

"Now Annabelle and Junipher what are you doing wondering around in the woods alone?" He asked crouching down to our level.

"W-we're just playing." I stumbled on my words.

"Haven't your parents ever told you about the demons of the night?"

"Yeah, but it's still day." Annie motioned toward the sun that was starting to set.

"Not for long, you might want to run back to your parents before they come out."

Annie stepped forward to start walking out of the dark woods, but I put my hand over her. "No." I said firmly and calm.

"Junipher you might not want to argue with me.
It's almost dinner time for the demons of the night." His face showed concern now.

"Please the demons of the night are just fairy tales made by our parents to scare us into doing the right thing." I rolled my eyes.

"Junipher they're real, so real. If you want to go home in one piece to your parents you might want to leave now."

I rolled my eyes again. "No."

"No?"

"No." I repeated myself.

Then Henry did something I wasn't expecting. "Here will you guys leave the woods and never come back if I show you that the demons of the night are real?"

"Yeah, but they're not real so we will be playing in the woods as long as we want." I crossed my arms over my chest.

Henry opened is mouth wide and showed us his pointed teeth. Annie gasped, but I kept calm not believing it one second.

"They're fake. Or you were just born with a weird mouth."

"Fine!" Henry groaned. He spotted a bunny in the distance, and ran as fast as he could to catch it. When he caught he sped back to us. He opened his mouth to reveal his fangs before shoving them into the bunny.

"Ew why would you do that?" I asked grossed out.

There was a rustling behind Henry. "Run kids!" He yelled before getting tackled by something.

Annie and I ran as fast as we could out of the woods and back to the village.

The next day, despite Annie's complaining we went into the woods again, hopping to find Henry.

Henry was sitting by the tree playing with the fallen leaves on the ground.

"Henry! You're okay!" Annie ran over and hugged him.

"What are guys doing here it's not safe?"

"We wanted you to turn us into demons of the night." I crossed my arms over my chest.

"What? Why?" He stood quickly.

"Dunno." I shrugged. "Seems like something I would enjoy being."

"You enjoy sucking blood from people?" He asked chuckling.

"No." I rolled my eyes. "I enjoy sticking out, and living forever."

"How do you enjoy living forever if you've never done it?"

"It just seems like something I'd want to do with my best friend." I looked at Annie.

"How about a deal. You keep quiet about my existence and I'll train for years on what demons of the night eat, do, sleep, and everything else. Then on your sixteenth birthday, if you haven't already died from stupidity, I'll turn you guys into demons of the night." He offered.

"Deal." I held out my hand waiting for him to shake it.

Okay, I know I said I'd make a long update, but tried, and I didn't soooo........ sorry I guess.
