Chapter 16

We are at the Frank's Bakery and Cafe for breakfast.We ordered sausage, eggs and croissant and a cup of joe to start our morning.We have planned to go for a Hunter Mountain Scenic Skyride.

Kevin and Amir went to buy lift tickets. The view of the Hunter mountain is breathtaking from here. Shortly they came back with the passes and we entered inside.

There was a six passenger Katskill flyer with detachable chairlift.I started to feel nervous, I have Acrophobia. I have to refrain myself from looking down or should I stay here waiting for them to compete their ride. The latter sounded easier.

"Guys how about I wait here, I don't feel like riding on that chair. "

"Oh come on how can you miss on it?", Sarah said.

" Are you scared of heights? ", Kevin asked.

" She has Acrophobia ", Khalid answered on my behalf. " I will stay with you. "

"No.You should not miss it because of me. I will wait here, it will not take much time."

"But.. "

"Come with me, trust me you will be relaxed after sometime", Kevin tried to persuade me.

" No."

"You guys go, She will join us don't worry", he said to the rest of the group.

They went towards the chairlift, and sat on it.

" Babydoll, it will be a short ride".

" But I'm.. "

He took my hand and grasped it into his.

"Trust me", he said looking deep into my eyes.I felt secure when his hand warmed up my cold ones. He pulled me inside with him, others were waiting for us.
Khalid, Jason, Nikki, Olivia ,Amir and Marcus were sitting in a flyer and the rest of them occupied the other flyer, leaving space for the two of us.

Kevin sat at the left corner and I got beside him and Sarah.He was still holding my hand making me feel better than before.I sighed when the flyer started, slowly and slowly the speed increased to a certain point. I closed my eyes to avoid looking down, my heart rate was increasing bit by bit.His hold tightened , "Calm down, Babydoll" he whispered in my ears."Open your eyes".
I released my breath and opened my eyes to capture the beautiful scenic view of highest summit offering spectacular views of the Northern Catskill Mountains, the Berkshires in Massachusetts, and Vermont's Green Mountains.I looked back at Kevin, he was already looking at me with a smile playing on his lips.

When we reached the top, view of hand-hewn Rip Van Winkle statue can be seen. The hiking trails were also visible.After an eleven minute ride we landed on the ground,I sighed at the end of it.

Kevin was still holding my hand,I figured sometimes he can be kind but mostly he is not but I should thank him.

"Thank you for this", I said to him.

"Nuh uh, a thank you will not suffice."

"Then what will? "

"You have to go out with me when we get back to New York", I stopped in my track.

"Why would you want to go out with me?"

"Because I want to", he said looking straight into my eyes and then loosen his hold.

He left me there with others and went towards Eric.We decided to have lunch at a nearby restaurant and then go for zip line.We all grabbed a spot outside the restaurant to bask in the sun and ordered lunch ,enjoying the warmth of the Sun.

When we arrived at the zip line, the boys with Nikki went for the aerial view of the mountain. Sarah,Olivia and me decided to stay there as we were not interested in it. Specially me,the achievement at the sky ride was too much for me.They all were enjoying the view and kept on screaming due to the adrenaline rush.
