Contento posto
I removed my pants, shirt and jacket and changed into a simple white sleeveless dress that's right above the knee and wore my hermes sandals.
That's the name of our resort. Contento Posto means, a happy place.
I gave Manong a 100 peso bill dahil wala akong ibang pera na mas maliit. "Keep the change po." I said and thanked him before entering the lobby.
I looked at the staff and I'm surprised na halos parehos parin ang mga staff namin simula nuon. Well, dad really takes care of our employees kaya naman I can't blame them na nag tagal sila dito.
"Ma'am Shantal? Ikaw ba yan?" One of our oldest employee asked when she noticed me. "Manang Elsa! It's so nice of you to remember me kahit ang tagal ko na po hindi nakabalik dito." I replied and smiled at her as she walked closer to me.
She replied and signaled a male staff to get my things. We walked over to the counter, good thing may available na isang counter na walang guests na nakapila.
Manang Elsa is also our caretaker here since daddy can't be that hands on with our resort sa sobrang busy and manang Elsa is the most trusted dahil matagal na sya dito.
"Good morning, ma'am! Reservations?" The staff in the counter asked, she's probably new. "Ano ka bah! Joy, Si Ms. Sy ito!" Panimula ni Manang Elsa at Joy's eyes widened and her jaw dropped. I smiled at her assuring her that it's fine. You can't expect everyone to know who you are.
"Manang, it's fine. Um, joy. May available room pa ba? Sorry hindi ako naka reserve biglaan lang kasi." I said while putting my wayfarer on my head. "Shan, ako na bahala jan. Umupo ka nalang dun, kami na bahala." Ani ni Mananag Elsa and I just nodded, too tired to argue. I'll just wait in the Restaurant and relax for a bit.
"What's taking so long?"
"I don't know. It's almost an hour since we got here."
"I'll follow up our room. How can they easily entertain that girl when she just arrived?"
I heard a group of guys talking while I was walking out towards the restaurant. Oh no, guests should never wait too long. I walked back to where manang Elsa was and joy and passed by the group of guys.
"Manang, anong problema sa kwarto ng mga guest na yan? Kanina pa daw sila nag hihintay, ah? Manang, we don't let our guests wait for too long." I can tell they're not from here, basing from their accents but parang pinoy lang din naman. Baka balik Bayan.
" Sorry po, ma'am. May problema po kasi sa reservations nila kaya natagalan." Joy replied nervous. I sighed and nodded at her. "Upgrade their rooms, but let them pay the rates of what they booked and give them free lunch in the restaurant. We can't let our guests wait and give them nothing in return. Lead those guys to the restaurant."
Pagkapasok ko sa Restaurant naka hanap agad ako ng vacant table that's over looking the sea. Kahit hindi summer ang init parin.
"What would you want to order ma'am?" A waitress asked holding her notepad and pen while waiting for my orders. "Just get me a tuna sandwich and a bucket of beer." I replied and closed my eyes massaging my temple. She didn't say anything and just stood there looking at me like I'm crying. "AY, sorry po. Okay po." She replied when she noticed my reaction.
Probably shocked that I'm ordering a bucket of beer at this hour. Well, marami akong gustong kalimotan. While waiting I saw the group of guys enter the restaurant with joy assisting them. There were five guys and i caught one guy looking at me but I looked away and ignored it.
He's good looking, almost as tall as Tristan. Wait! Ano ba tong iniisip ko! Stop it shantal. I diverted my attention by turning on my phone to call daddy. The moment it turned on parang sasabog sa messages ang phone ko. From Irene, manang, daddy and Tristan.
"Phew." I whispered ignoring their messages and dialed dad's number.
"Shantal! WHERE ARE YOU?" May diin sa bawat salita ni daddy. He's mad. "Dad, Nasa contento posto ako. Gusto ko munang mapag isa. I'm sorry." I replied and played with the tissue on my table. "Umuwi ka dito pagkatapo mo dyan! Lalaki lang yan, for goodness sake, you are Shantal Sy! You are a Sy! They're nobody! Keep that on your head!" He replied, more like yelled then hung up the phone.
Hay nako! Ang gulo!
"Ito na po ang order nyo, ma'am." The waitress said placing my tuna sandwich and beer on my table. I don't know why I ordered tuna sandwich. I'm not really a fan of this but parang ang sarap. She left me alone then I started eating and drinking my beer and not minding my surroundings.
