My walk home seemed like it took a matter of minutes with my fogged thoughts and strange ache in my chest. Though I felt heartbroken, I knew what I did was the correct thing to do. I had to stand my ground even against the werewolf alpha, I would never be silenced and certainly I would not be told what I can do or otherwise.

I knew Cassander had not followed me, as I never heard his footsteps after I walked away. I did feel some sort of dull pain in my chest as I left him, but no amount of pain would change how I felt. I wanted him to know I would not be controlled by anyone especially someone I have not known long at all.

As I stormed up to my house, I noticed the window was open to my bedroom, when I was sure I had kept it shut. I cautiously pull the pocket knife from the side pocket of my bag and I walked up to the house. I turned the door knob, but it was locked. I began to reach for my bag to get the key when the door swung open.

"Liam?" I ask, surprised and relieved. I pushed passed him and into my house. Some part of me was mad at him as well as he is the one who caused the fight between Cassander and I.

"Are you okay?" Liam asks, genuine concern on his facial features. His brow furrows as he looks at me, trying to get a reading from my emotions.

"No," I admit and sigh. I was not going to fight with Liam too. Instead, I decided to once again confide in the vampire.

We took a seat on the couch and I proceeded to explain the days events. He stayed fairly quiet as he listened carefully to my words and feelings, nodding and humming in response once in a while.

"I'm just not sure what to do, or what I want for that matter," I finally conclude.

"Sounds like you need a vacation from the wolves," Liam said with a chuckle. Though he laughed, his words sparked a devious idea in my head.

"Maybe you're right," I say, my tone changing and a smirk growing.

"Well I mean I don't know about that. If you left, Cassander would lose his shit," Liam says, his eyes widening.

"What better way to show I will walk my own path than to follow the exact one he doesn't want me on?" I ask rhetorically.

"What path is that?" Liam asks, curious as to what I have planned.

"I should visit your kingdom," I say with a shrug. Liam's eyes jump out of his skull and I swear I saw fear shadow his features.

"I don't think that is a good idea. I do like my immortal life you know," Liam says.

"Please! It could be fun. Cassander doesn't have to know where I went. I will leave him a note here and eventually he can text me if he really needs me," I say.

The idea of going to a kingdom filled with vampires was a bit intimidating but enthralling as well. It was almost like a burst of adrenaline just thinking about it.

"I don't know Jasper. It's taking a not just a risk for me, but you do know we vampires eat people right? It's dangerous in my kingdom for a human," Liam says, caution in his tone.

"I know but I have you. I'm sure nobody would dare mess with the king right?" I shrug. Liam took a moment to think about this, eventually responding to my somewhat rhetorical question.

"If I take you with me, you have to swear you will stick by my side the entire time. You can not trust anyone I don't, and don't talk to strangers either. Do not even look at them. You have to stay in the castle unless I'm with you, okay?" Liam instructs, his naturally smug face turning serious with his words.

"So I can come?" I say with excitement.

"Yes. Go pack, it is a decent ride and I would like to get there before late night," Liam says with an eye roll and a smile.
