i miss you

"shuichi!" kokichi poked the navy-haired boy. shuichi looked up. "hm?"

"saihara-chan! did you forget? today is my birthday!" kokichi pouted. shuichi softly smiled. "of course not, kichi. in fact, i'm taking you to a special place right now. get changed."

the two males walked down the street and turned to a corner. they stood in front of a small shop. the sign read, "Soda Haven".

"soda!" kokichi exclaimed as he dashed into the shop. shuichi couldn't help but smile. "hello, two grape pantas for me and my friend here please," shuichi said.

"of course," the shopowner weakly smiled. "stay safe!"

shuichi waved and walked out of the store. kokichi had already finished his panta. "thank you shumai! i wov you!" kokichi said, trying to be cute.

shuichi giggled and grabbed kokichi's hand. "where are we going?"

"you'll see."

the two males approached a beautiful garden filled with primroses and daisies. "it's beautiful shumai!" kokichi said as he looked around.

"i know, that's why i brought you here. it reminded me of you," shuichi said blushing.

"eh? is shumai shooting his shot? don't get so cocky!" kokichi joked.

shuichi laughed and sighed. both males looked into the sunset and fell asleep on eachother's shoulder.

"i love you," shuichi whispered.

shuichi woke up to no kokichi. "kokichi?" shuichi looked around. it had only been 20 minutes since they fell asleep as the sky still had that orange beauty to it.

shuichi thought of where kokichi could be and remembered. of course he'd be there! shuichi grabbed his belongings and rushed over to the place.

he looked around, eery as always. he then ran to one of the stones.

"Why do you guys hate lies so much? There's only one truth, but endless possibilities for lies, y'know?"

"..."

"no.." shuichi whispered as he felt tears rolling down his cheeks. "shuichi!" he turned his head to see his friend, maki harukawa.

"what did i say about your pills?" maki shoved a bottle of pills into his hands.

"your schizophrenia has been getting worse lately, you need to consume your pills daily!" maki frowned.

shuichi suddenly broke down. "i miss him.. so much.." he sobbed. maki's face softened as she bent down to comfort him. "shh, it's okay, he's in a better place now."

"t-thank you.." shuichi smiled. "since it's kokichi's birthday, i'll let you stay here for a bit." maki said as she got up and waved.

shuichi turned his head back to the tombstone.

"i miss you."
