Once

"Ikaw ha, may lihim ka ng pagtingin sa'kin. "

I just can't believe what I heard nung nasa restaurant pa kami with Rigel's parents. Natawa nalang ang mag-asawa at nagpaumanhin kay Beaumont, habang ako ay na a-awkwardan sa lahat nang narinig ko.

Maybe, I'm just too shocked. Hearing that from my slight pipi crush? Diba ang sobrang impossible pakinggan. We're on the site now, we came back here because he needs to finish something--- I don't know.

"Hmm." he leaned on his chair.

"Ha?" I leaned in my chair too, while staring at him. His attention is now on the blueprint that he's holding. He even crossed his legs. Looks like a boss.

"Secret." while looking at the blueprint, didn't mind to glance at me.

Ano daw? Secret? Secret kung may pagtingin daw siya sa'kin? Teka, na slo-slow ako!

"Teka? A-ano?" naguguluhang ani ko at umayos ng upo. I leaned my elbow at the table infront of us and stare at him that who's still serious on the blueprint.

He put his blueprint on the table and leaned his elbow too and look at me straight to the eyes, making me a bit uncomfortable.

"Kaya nga lihim na pagtingin,"  seryosong ani nito.

Hindi ko maiwasang hindi mapatawa, nag jo-joke ba siya?

Weeks passed ay ganoon pa din ang nangyari sa'min, hindi kami masyadong nagkikita. Mga tatlo o apat lang sa loob ng isang semana. Naguguluhan nga ako kung siya ba ang Personal Assistant o ako, palagi niya kasi akong hinahatid sundo. He even treat me to lunch, dinner pati breakfast kahit pinipilit ko na ako ang magbayad.

The construction workers are always teasing me about Beaumont. Senior Engineer Magno too. I didn't mind their teasing kasi totoo naman.

"Hey, Long time no see, you Beaumont's girlfriend huh!" napangiti ako at napayakap kay Xynea. It's been a month since hindi kami nagkikita. We are just too busy with our own lives. Hindi naman pwede na palagi kaming magkasama.

"Hindi pa," natatawang ani ko at umupo. Nandito kami ngayon sa isang coffee shop. Nag order naman kaagad si Xynea.

"You have a boyfriend, do you?" I ask her, I want to know!

"Ano ka ba, busy lang may boyfriend kaagad?!" natatawang ani nito at ininom ang kape niya.

"Talaga ba?" tinaasan ko siya ng kilay. She's beautiful kaya mahirap paniwalaan na hanggang ngayon ay wala pa din itong boyfriend.

"Yeah, I'm just too busy with my photoshoots."

Sobrang dali ng araw, bago lang nagbakasyon pero ito na naman balik klase na ulit, malapit na din mag enrollment for this school year. Kinakabahan nga ako kasi mag co-college na, sabi kasi nila it's more stressful when you're at college. Well that's life.

"Ako na bahala sa tuition mo Estelle. I'm your mother and that's my responsibility!" protesta ni Mommy nang sinabi kong ako na ang bahala sa tuition ko.

"No Mommy. I have some money here pa naman. I can afford it," I explained, I want to get her approval.

"No, I'm going to pay your tuition!" she massaged her forehead. Talagang na i-istress na si Mommy sa'kin, but I want to pay my tuition! I'm grown up now.
