Chapter 20

(Austins POV)

I finally pull into the school parking lot and my phone rings, I jump out of the car and grab my phone, sliding the green button to accept the call.

Austin - Hello?

Robert - Is the baby at the babysitters?

Austin - No, Alex has him.

Robert - Alex is at work and has been for the last 3 hours.

Austin - Then he probably dropped him off at the babysitters house like you said.

Robert - Does she know about Lilly or whatever her name is?

Austin - If Alex didn't tell her then she doesn't know, look just go get the baby for me, please.

Robert - (Y/N) is gonna wake up soon and I can't be in two places at once.

Austin - It's fine, I got Maddie, I'll be back there within 20 minutes.

Robert - All it takes is 20 minutes.

Austin - Don't say that, just get the baby and call me once you've got him.

Robert - Ight, bye

I completely forgot about the baby, I assumed he was still with Alex. I didn't even think about what time he had to go to work today, he must've been running late because any other time he'd bring him to me. The babysitter is really close to Alex's house so I see why he did that.

One of my problems is gone now, I have my daughter so I'm relieved about that. Now I have to worry about my wife and my son.

I slowly pulled out of the parking spot before darting out of the parking lot back onto the street.

"I'm sorry" Maddie murmured and I glanced back at her.

"What are you sorry for?" I asked.

"I'm sorry that I said I hate you" she whispered.

"What?"

"I said I'm sorry because I said I hate you" she said rolling her eyes.

"Don't roll your eyes at me" I said turning the corner.

"Just did" she said.

"Madison.." I warned.

"Fine, geez stop getting so mad" she said crossing her arms.

"I'm not mad, you just like getting on my last nerve half of the time" I said.

"I'm your daughter I'm supposed to do that" she giggled.

"No you're not"

"Yes" she said quickly.

"No" I said.

"Yes"

"Maddie you're literally pushing your luck" I breathed.

"How so?" she said mocking my tone.

"Because I'm not the type of parent who beats their kid, but you're definitely tempting me to do something I don't want to right now"

"What is it?" she asked smiling sarcastically.

"To pull this car over and spank your butt, that's what" I said pulling into the hospital parking lot.

"Ugh fine"

"Okay then" I breathed pulling into the park.

"Okay?" she asked "Are you mad at me?"

"Maddie I'm not mad at you, you'll know when I'm mad at you and yes 'okay'" I said.
