rhythm of the night-crystal x jaida

hi these my babies! a friendship oneshot, during filming of the show, crystal can't sleep due to a storm and everyone else is asleep so jaida has to deal with the consequences. male pronouns as they're out of drag, drag names still in use.

There was a loud clap of thunder that shook the building. Clouds were still building up, the flashes of lightning cut through the curtains and illuminating their rooms. Crystal hadn't slept at all, and the noise was making it even harder. He sat in the bed, willing for the storm to pass. It was 2:31 and he'd have to be up in 4 hours!

"Please stop, please.." He muttered to himself. Crystal had never liked storm- they'd always scared him, ever since he was a kid. The fact that the others were all fine with storms didn't make it any better. Even Rock thought they were okay, not batting an eyelid when they'd all heard the rain earlier on hammering down on the windows as they ate their chicken and fries. After Crystal couldn't keep his fear in any longer, he jumped up and bolted into Jaida's room across the hall without knocking. Crystal knew Jaida would be awake at this time, as usual.

"Jaida, Jaida, Jaidaaaa." He whined, jumping onto the bed and pulling a pillow over his head. Jaida sat up from his chair, peeling his sheet mask of his face, setting the magazine he held down and sighing.

"Chile what's wrong? Don't say it's cause of this." He waved a hand towards the window just as another crack of lightning broke through. Crystal whimpered and nodded. "Surely you could've gone to Gigi?"

"He wouldn't be awake." Crystal mumbled. "No one else is apart from you at this time of night."

"Jesus Christ." Jaida stood up and sat down on the bed, hugging Crystal. "It'll go soon, promise." 

"I know, I just don't like it Jaids." A tear rolled down his cheek, which Crystal wiped away hurriedly.

"Neither do I." Jaida sniffed. "I don't think anyone does really, apart from Aiden, he's probably awake too." They both laughed, remembering how earlier on Aiden had been ecstatic over the coming storm.

"I don't get how you guys don't like storms! They're fucking gorgeous, I mean have you seen them?!"

"We've all seen storms Aiden and quite frankly they're not as perfect as you say there are." Gigi had replied, rolling his eyes.

"But they're amazing! Don't you think Heidi?" He'd turned to Heidi, who'd been picking at the chicken on the plate.

"Meh, they're okay."

"Anyway, you'll be fine I promise." Crystal nodded and detached himself from Jaida, standing up.

"I think I'll go back to my room now. I'll see you later."

"See you later, love ya." Jaida waved, as Crystal walked out and back towards her own room.
