Mandalore had always been beautiful in Ahsoka Tano's eyes. Though some found Duchess Satine's strive for peace just silly, nonsensical "idealism," Ahsoka thought wanting non-violence was a great thing to pursue, and the Jedi, with their "peacekeeping," don't really seem to be doing much of that lately.
Political meetings were such a bore for Ahsoka, but as Padmé had asked her to come, she couldn't refuse as she was Ahsoka's favorite senator.
Ahsoka wasn't really paying attention to what was being said, but more on the beautiful stained glass around the walls.
"I have something to say about the legitimacy of the Separatists!" came a voice from the entrance. The voice was familiar yet so foreign. It was Lux! She watched as he strode to the front and bowed to the Duchess.
"You didn't tell me Lux Bonteri would be here," Ahsoka whispered into Padmé's ear.
"I didn't know."
"I stand before you, son of Mina Bonteri. A loyal Separatist. A patriot. A friend," he said, turning his head to Ahsoka and giving a slight smile. She somehow managed to find herself smiling back. "It has come to my attention that my mother was murdered by Count Dooku in cold blood."
"That is a lie!" A Senator from the Separatists cried out. "Remove this traitor immediately!"
Ahsoka found herself being held back from running to Lux by Padmé, and she began to worry when droids hooked around Lux's arms. "I will not be silenced!" he yelled confidently.
"Stop this!" Satine bellowed.
"I ask you to respect us dealing with the matter ourselves."
"NO! Dooku is deceiving you! You will all be betrayed—just like my mother!"
Ahsoka was now feeling inner turmoil. She couldn't let him be killed, even if he was on the other side of the war. "We can't just let them take him, he'll be killed," she muttered to Padmé.
"Do what you can, Ahsoka. But be discreet." Ahsoka nodded and took off for the Senator.
She made it to where Lux was being kept just before he would be shot dead by the Commando Droids. "Ahsoka?"
"Lux," she said, offering her hand for him to take after the droids were nothing but spare parts, "I think it's time to go, don't you?"
The two held hands and ran out the door, then he made a beeline while Ahsoka fought off the droids. "I—Ahsoka I appreciate your help—"
"Keep moving!"
Droid's blaster fire shot through the glass walls of the corridors; merely missing Lux's head. Ahsoka led the two out to where her ship was docked and motioned for Lux to join along. "Captain Taggart, we've got incoming clankers."
As the Duchess' guards protected to two teenagers from getting shot, Ahsoka led both of them onto the ship and took off. It was a sigh of relief from both of them when R2 managed to get into the air and off the planet.
"Ahsoka," called Anakin from an incoming holo-transmission. "Padmé just contacted me, she told me the peace negotiations have all but collapsed. Where are you?"
"I'm en route to Coruscant, Master. I've got Lux Bonteri with me," she said, pointing to the boy beside her.
"Master Jedi," he said apprehensively. "I'm sorry if I've caused you any trouble."
