It was finally the day of the sports festival. You had been training, although not much since you were too busy procrastinating, for two weeks straight. Since you had trained harder than usual the previous night, you were currently asleep on your desk.

  "L/N. Wake up."

Your snore bubble popped and you looked up groggily at who was in front of you. Todoroki stood at your desk, looking down at you with amusement.

"I wanted to let you know that I'm going to beat you today. But I want you to at least give it your all."

"EEEEH?!" Your classmates shouted, eyes popping out of their sockets. Your own eyes widened slightly, and you started to chuckle, getting out of your seat. You stood up straight, having to look up at the towering boy.

"Bold statement, bro. Okay then, I accept your challenge."

"First Midoriya and now L/N, huh, Todoroki?" Kaminari chuckled, slightly intimidated. Todoroki turned to Kaminari, eyes significantly colder than before.

"L/N is strong. She uses others strengths to enhance her own. Which is why I want to beat her."

Kaminari nodded, even more intimidated now. You giggled, rubbing the back of your neck. "Gee, thanks, Todoroki."

"Oi! Gas bit- Y/N!" Bakugo shouted, making you turn around.

"F-first name basis?!" Kaminari yelled, shocked.

"Shut up, Sparky! Anyways, you fucking airhead, I'm gonna beat you no matter what, so don't even try!"

You smiled gracefully, giving him a thumbs down. "Nope. I'll beat you."

Bakugo was taken aback, to say the least. You thought you could beat him? It was almost laughable. And also annoying. He gritted his teeth, fists clenching.

"We'll see about that!" He snapped, walking away. You laughed, starting to follow your other classmates out of the classroom.

You entered the arena through a large hallway, and you squinted, shielding your eyes as sunlight hit your face. The roaring of a crowd was heard, and you gasped quietly, heart starting to pump with excitement. Your eyes scanned the whole arena as you walked towards the stage in the middle of it, mind racing.

'Wow, there's so many people here to see us! Are we really that awesome? I wonder if my parents are here! Hmm, what if those villains are here, too...nah. Man, I wonder if somewhere out there, aliens in space are watching us, too? That would be so cool! Interdimensional cable...'

"Y/N L/N and Katsuki Bakugo of 1-A!" You heard Ms. Midnight shout, and you shook your head vigorously, clearing your mind.

"What's happening?" You asked Bakugo, turning to him.

"We're the class representatives, dumbass, we're supposed to go up there and say some shit." Bakugo growled, rolling his eyes at you as he started to step onto the stage. You followed suit, practically bouncing up the steps. Bakugo stepped towards the mic, lowering his head to speak into it.

"I'm gonna place first." He said bluntly, making the crowd of students roar in outrage.

"Don't push your luck, 1-A!"

"Why do you insist on lowering our good graces?!"

"Sludge-fucker!"

"You're all gonna make fantastic stepping stones." Bakugo growled, drawing his thumb across his neck.

"Quiet down, all of you! We still have one more representative from 1-A!" Midnight shouted, a scary expression on her face. The ruckus silenced, and you smiled gratefully at her, watching as Bakugo stepped off of the stage. You beamed at the crowd of students, tapping the microphone twice before speaking into it.

"Hey, you guys. I'm Y/N L/N from Class 1-A. I just wanted to say, I hope you all do your best, and don't give up, because that's bad. Oh, also, I like snails."

The crowd roared again, this time with glee. You had successfully uplifted their spirits with your words, save the snail thing.

"All right, with that we can move directly onto our first event!" Midnight exclaimed, uncovering a large screen behind her. "Onto the preliminaries! Lots of folk end up drowning in their tears here every year! And this year's first round of destiny is..."

You bounced up and down on your heels, filled to the brim with anticipation. Midnight gestured flamboyantly towards the screen, which now had two flashing words on it.

  "An obstacle race!"
