"L/N, wake up. It's your turn to go up."

Your eyes fluttered open and you turned your head to face Awase, who looked slightly worried for you. You smiled softly, yawning and stretching.

"Who am I up against?"

"AND NOW, THE FINAL THROWDOWN THAT EVERYONE HAS BEEN WAITING FOR...THE EXPLOSIVE KATSUKI BAKUGO VERSUS THE AIRY Y/N L/N!!" Present Mic shouted, and the crowd went wild. Your eyes widened as you saw Bakugo walk up to the pitch, glaring at you as you stood up and started walking over. You sighed, slightly nervous and still tired.

"I wanna go back to sleep. But I've gotta beat Bakugo first."

"SHE'S A BIT OF AN AIRHEAD, BUT HAS A HEART OF GOLD AND A LOVE FOR SNAILS AND ROBOTS!! HERE'S Y/N L/N, THE PUPPETEER!!"

You yawned and stretched as you heard the roars from the crowd.

"AND ONCE AGAIN, HE'S GOT A TEMPER THAT YOU WOULDN'T WANNA MESS WITH, AND A BOMBASTIC QUIRK, IT'S KATSUKI BAKUGO!!"

You grinned at Bakugo as the crowd cheered for him, clapping for him despite the fact that you were about to face him one on one. Bakugo scowled, cracking his knuckles.

"NOW, WITHOUT FURTHER ADO...BEGIN!!"

Bakugo blasted towards you with extreme force, almost teleporting to where you were. Your eyes widened slightly and you quickly ducked as he passed over your head. He whirled around, bringing his leg down and hitting you square in the back. You wheezed, feeling the wind get knocked out of you. You shakily stood up, wincing.

"BAKUGO JUST SUDDENLY KNOCKED THE WIND OUT OF L/N AFTER SHE DODGED HIS ATTACK!! WILL SHE BE ABLE TO USE HER QUIRK WITH THE SMALL AMOUNT OF OXYGEN SHE HAS?!"

You huffed, whirling around to face him as he once again blasted towards you. You sucked in a deep breath, quickly expelling gas from your body. Your eyes widened as the gas dissipated from the blast force, and suddenly you were skidding across the ground, Bakugo shoving you into the dirt. You breathed heavily, feeling dizzy.

"Give up, you stupid idiot!" Bakugo spat at you, raising up a hand to strike. You grinned, sneakily expelling a transparent, undetectable gas from your body.

"No way in hell, my dude."

Bakugo stiffened up, and you laughed triumphantly, although your lungs were squeezing painfully. He glared down at you, sweat dripping off of him onto you.

"IT LOOKS LIKE L/N HAS TAKEN CONTROL OF BAKUGO, EVEN AFTER HER GAS WAS BLOWN AWAY BY HIS BLASTS!! WILL SHE COME OUT ON TOP?!"

You flicked your wrist, making Bakugo fly off of you. He screamed in anger, struggling to break free of your control. You started to flex your hands, slowly pushing Bakugo towards the edge of the arena boundaries. He fought against you, but to no avail. He gritted his teeth, a surge of adrenaline rushing through his veins.

"I'm...gonna be...number one!" Bakugo yelled, and suddenly, with a jerk of his arm, your strings snapped. Your eyes widened as he shuttled towards you once again, and you felt a powerful wave of vertigo wash over you. Your stomach churned, and you felt the urge to vomit as he slammed into your body. You got hit with a large blast to your side, and you cried out in pain, feeling stinging all over your body.

"BAKUGO HAS SOMEHOW MANAGED TO BREAK FREE OF L/N'S CONTROL, AND NOW HE HAS HER BACKED AGAINST A CORNER!! WHAT WILL SHE DO NOW?!"

"Did I...impress you?" You groaned, a shaky smile on your face as you stared up dazedly at Bakugo. He gripped onto your shoulders tightly, gritting his teeth.

"You're fucking annoying."

"I know, I know." You laughed weakly, the dizziness taking over you. You gasped, taking in a deep breath of air to prevent you from passing out. "I...I forfeit."

Bakugo's expression changed to one of pain, and he gritted his teeth, grabbing you by the collar.

"You what?! W-what kind of shit are you trying to pull, gas bitch?! You said you were gonna beat me, so get your ass up and FIGHT ME, DAMMIT!!"

  "Bakugo, that's enough! She's forfeited, let her breathe!" Midnight shouted, eyebrows furrowing. You breathed raggedly, going in and out of consciousness.

  "MY VICTORY IS MEANINGLESS IF I'M WINNING LIKE THIS!!" Bakugo shouted, and then suddenly you both passed out as Midnight used her quirk to sedate you. One thought entered your mind before you blacked out.

  'I'm proud of you...Bakugo...'
