Billie sat in her room and just stared blankly at the card she was holding. The card with the name Ron Michaels and his phone number.

All she could think about is how different things would've been with him in her life. But who knows? It could've been worst, as Billie didn't know anything about this man.

She read the name, Ron Michaels over and over again. Hmm...Billie Michaels. Yeahhhhh no.

After gazing at the card, she finally decided to pick up her cellphone and dial his number. Just as she was about to hit the call button, Maggie barged into her room.

She jumped as Maggie startled her by her sudden appearance.

"Yes!?" Billie said out of annoyance.

"You've been acting weird for awhile." Maggie said with her arms crossed and one of her eyebrows lifted. "I know you got high the other day, what is going on with you?"

All of sudden, Billie remembered that she was supposed to talk to her mom before doing anything.

"Uh yeah." she said holding the card out to Maggie. "I forgot to let you know that some made come over saying he was my dad."

Maggie snatched the card from Billie and glared at the words. "Billie, how do you just forget to mention something like this?"

Billie just shrugged and looked down as Maggie studied the card. Maggie sighed and sat down next to Billie.

"How do you feel about this?" Maggie asked.

"I want to talk to him. I want to know why he abandoned me before I was even born." Billie sighed. "And I just want to get to know him."

"Okay, well if you really want to talk to him, I think I need to call him first to make sure he is who he really is. I'll call him next weekend." Maggie said. Billie cringed at the thought of some random old man stalking her and going up to her calling her her dad.

"Okay." she said softly.

"I love you." Maggie said as she pecked the side of Billie's cheek. "We'll talk about you smoking weed later, young lady." she said as she got up and left the room, closing the door behind her.

Billie frowned as she realized that Maggie took the card with her. Then she looked down at her phone and realized that the number was already typed and ready to be dialed.

She thought about just letting Maggie talk to him first to stay safe, but the overwhelming urge to get answers took away any logical decision she had.

Before thinking any longer, she pressed the green dial button to call the man. She put the phone to her ear and sweat started dripping down her forehead as the phone rang and rang.

After four rings, she finally heard a very deep males voice on the other line. "Hello?"

All of a sudden she couldn't speak, and forgot anything she was about to say.

"Hello?" he repeated. She jumped to find something to say before he hung up.

"H-hi? Is t-this um...Ron Michaels?" she stammered.

"This is he. Who's asking?"

Billie bit her lip out of nervousness. She wasn't sure if giving her actually name would be smart but she had nothing else to come up with.

"I- um. My name is Billie." she said softly. She heard a gasp from the other line and a brief silence followed.

"Billie? This is your father." he said as Billie scoffed and rolled her eyes. "I want to talk to you."
