I just waited for my back to hit the floor or to fall on Rachel, but neither happened. What the hell? Taking in my surroundings I looked up and saw a heavily blushing Takashi. Then I finally felt his arms on my back. "You should start charging me for every time I put us in this kind of awkward position." I joked. "Either kiss or help her to her feet, I can't watch this all-day," Danielle said. "Danielle, shut up they won't kiss if you ruin the moment." Rachel said. Takashi finally put me on my feet. Looking up at him I could only see him looking at the ground as I heard a few boos from our friends. Before any words could be spoken I was off and in the changing room, waiting for Rachel. Rachel walked in and she just had the biggest smirk on her face. "Don't you dare say a fucking word about what just happened." I threatened only to get a chuckle from her in response. "So Jane, I was wondering do you have a date for the dance?" Rachel asked, zipping up the dress. I laughed and shook in response. "What kind of dumb question is that?" I asked. "Well most of us have a date for the dance and Takashi is one of those people so I was curious if you two would go?" Rachel said, you could she was trying to slowly ease the question in. "Sure," I replied and shrugged my shoulder as she unzipped the dress. "Really? That would be gre- wait a minute, are you serious?" Rachel asked, looking at me suspiciously through the mirror. "No, are you meth?" I replied and laughed. "Come on Jane, you act like this is gonna kill you." Rachel said. "Because it is," I replied, changing into my clothes. "Fine, I won't force you to do it but at least think about it, okay?" Rachel said. I sighed heavily and nodded. I finished changing and we both walked out, the dress in my hand. There wasn't much of a line since the shop wasn't busy and my friends had already bought their dresses and tuxedos. The dress was scanned and was given a total since there wasn't a price tag on it. "One hundred and seventy-five dollars." The cashier told me, my jaw dropped. Who the fuck puts a dress at that price? "Excuse me?" I questioned, hoping that I misheard the price. "The dress is one hundred and seventy-five dollars." The cashier said, my hope shattering. I pulled out my wallet and checked to see how much I had only a hundred dollar bill. "Nevermind on the dress," I said. "Are you sure? I could put it on hold for you." The cashier said. "No it's fine, have a good day," I replied, walking back to the group. Even helping my parents at work I could never make up the seventy-five, plus I promised the girls lunch next time we went out. "Where's the dress?" Rachel asked, causing everyone to look at me. "I don't have enough, but it's fine I have dresses at home," I replied. "I'll buy the dress for you," Beverly said. "I would be grateful but no I can't have you do that. Maybe next time we have a dance I could buy it, so it's fine I can wait." I replied. "Are you sure? I don't mind." Beverly said. "It's fine really. Now let's go eat I'm pretty sure I promised lunch for next time we hang out." I said and grinned. Beverly, Rachel, and Danielle began to smile. "We would love to join you guys but we have more shopping to do," Skylar said and the other two nodded. We said our goodbyes and we started to leave first. "Where are we eating?" Beverly asked. "A cafe nearby just opened up and so far the reviews are great," I replied. "Jane, wait up!" I heard someone call. I turned around already knowing who it was.
