Do you ever feel like you don't deserve the friends you have? Because I'm feeling like that at the moment. Once Rachel found out I can't go to the dance she got the group together and they're planning a new dance at my house. And I'm really beginning to panic since Rachel invited Takashi and he agreed to come. I haven't talked to him since Wednesday after the whole incident. Did I ignore his calls? I did, not because I'm scared he's going to reject me but because it's way too awkward to talk to him. I already told Rachel what happened at Takashi's house but she insists on inviting him, if she wasn't such a great friend I would've said no. I sighed heavily as I handed Rachel a set of string lights. "Stop worrying, tonight will be great." Rachel said. "I don't know, it's going to feel awkward. Maybe we should cancel." I suggested. "Nope, too late for that. I'll finish the decorating and you can get ready." Rachel said. I nodded and went to my room to prepare. Rachel had already come to my house fully ready with a shit ton of decorations and a bag packed, ready to sleepover at my house after the dance. I had an hour before anyone arrived so I was for once in no rush to get ready. After about forty-five minutes I finished the last touches to my makeup. I walked out and downstairs expecting to see just Rachel but instead, I saw everyone and Rachel standing at the stairs waiting for me. "Hurry up, the 'dance' is about to start." Rachel said, making the quotation marks with her fingers. I rolled my eyes and walked down the stairs. I was relieved to find out everyone dressed up and it wasn't going to be just Rachel and me. Rachel's "theme" for the dance was a galaxy and it's impressive what she did. She had different colored lights, planets not only hanging up but painted them on balloons, and paintings up of the different galleries. "You really have outdone yourself this time," I commented, looking around. "I'm just glad you took so much time since I had to rush finishing this all up." Rachel said. "Rachel, thank you for all this," I said, looking at her. "It's just a dance Jane," Rachel replied. "No, I mean for everything. Your such a good friend to me and I would probably die without you." I said. I meant everything I said, this girl is just always there and constantly knows what to do. "You would probably die without me," Rachel replied proudly. "Now, shall we dance?" Rachel asked, holding her hand out to me. "I do have padding that's going to protect me. So sure, I would love to dance with you." I replied. After laughing I took her hand and we went into the "dance" floor. We started to dance for a bit and she stepped on my toes three times and we were only two songs in. "I'm going to go grab some punch for us," I said, as I slowly walked over to the table that had snacks and drinks set up. Getting the punch I realized that I saw everyone except Takashi. I grabbed the drinks and walked over to Rachel. "Where's Takashi?" I asked, handing her the other punch cup. "Oh, Takashi said he's going to be a bit late," Rachel replied. I nodded in response, I kind of hope he makes it here. After we finished the punch we went back to dancing and I really started to enjoy myself more. It had been at least thirty minutes and the playlist finally got to a slow song. As Rachel and I danced I felt a tap on my shoulder. I looked behind me and saw Takashi standing there, we made eye contact briefly before I looked away. "Yes of course you can dance with her Takashi, I'm glad you asked. Jane I'm going to go find another dance partner, like Beverly." Rachel said before walking away. Great, now it's going to be even more awkward. "Did you want to dance?" Takashi asked, finally breaking the silence between us. "As long as you won't step on my toes," I replied jokingly. We got in the position that all friends do when they slow dance with each other, hands on the other's shoulders. "Can we talk?" Takashi asked out of nowhere. "Depends on what you want to talk about," I replied. "We should talk about what happened at the house on Wednesday," Takashi said. "It's fine I just walked in a something I shouldn't have," I replied. "That's not what happened at all, I didn't even know you were coming over," Takashi started. "Lindsay came over to my house to talk about what happened between the two of you at lunch. While she was talking she knocked over her cup and it spilled onto my shirt. So I guess when I went to change she texted you. After she was done texting you, she went into my room and started acting strange. Then not even three minutes later you walked into the room and her plan I guess was complete." Takashi finished as the song ended. "So in basic terms, Lindsay wanted to be a bitch and went after you to hurt me?" I asked and he nodded in response. I wish I could say I'm shocked but in all honesty, I'm not. Then as luck would have it another slow song came on and not wanting to just walk away I decided to stay and dance with him a little more. "Jane, were you going to confess your feelings for me on Wednesday?" Takashi asked all of a sudden. "No, why would you think that?" I asked, blushing heavily as I lied. "Well, I saw a box of chocolates and the flowers and that's when I put two and two together and come to the conclusion you like me." Takashi replied. "I'm thirsty, are you thirsty? I'm going to go get some punch." I said nervously and began to walk away. As I was walking I felt someone grab my hand, turn me around, and pull me close. "Jane, you can't keep pushing me away. If you like me just say it." I heard Takashi say, I didn't dare to look up into his eyes. "I like you a lot Takashi and I'm tired of pushing you away." I said, looking up into his eyes. His eyes held a shine that reminded me of stars and his smile was perfect. I guess I was staring for too long because I heard him laugh then he leaned down and kissed me. The kiss was just like the first it happened, his lips were incredibly soft and the kiss was so gentle. I felt sparks flying and I didn't want to pull away, I could stay like this forever. But we had to pull away in order to breathe. "That was amazing." I said with a dumb grin on my face. As Takashi went for another kiss I stopped him. "If this is going to end up like last Sunday might I suggest going to my room." I said. Takashi thought for a moment then nodded with a smirk in response. I took his hand and led him upstairs. "Go, Jane! Go get you some!" I heard Rachel cheer from the crowd of my friends. Then everyone looked up at me and Takashi. Then all of a sudden the rest of them joined in on the cheering causing me to turn red from all of this embarrassment. With a quick flip off to the crowd I took Takashi and ran to my room. Once we were both in the room I closed and locked the door then turned towards Takashi.
