We hadn't made it back to the motel until around 10 o'clock at night, having stayed at the loft talking with the pack for quite awhile. They are a good group of kids, and we had already decided we could trust them without even discussing it. Sam and I had made eye contact several times and knew what the other was thinking. We would stay and help them, as long as it took.

Stiles was obviously my favourite, he was sarcastic as hell and made as many pop culture references as I did. The Derek guy was growing on me, although he seemed to live in a permanently grouchy state. He reminded me of Cas a little, not saying much and just watching what is going on around him. I had a feeling nothing really got past him. The Peter guy was Derek's uncle, and definitely strange, but I could appreciate his constant sass. Scott was Sam's look-a-like, in personality and physical characteristics- but not brains. Scott wasn't stupid, but he was a little slow on the uptake sometimes. Lydia was snarky and intelligent, and doesn't take crap from anyone- that, I liked. She reminded me a little of our Charlie.

Kira was awfully quiet, and a little awkward, and her and Scott stuck together like glue. They were a good match as far as I could tell. Liam and Mason were best friends, and attached at the hip for the most part. Liam had a temper, and I imagined he'd be a pretty nasty adversary when he shifted. Mason was a happy and intelligent dude, and he seemed to fit into the pack seamlessly. You wouldn't guess that he was the human. Malia- she was downright scary. But I learned she had been stuck in coyote form for 8 whole years, and had barely been out of it for a year now. It made sense, she was very instinctual and animalistic in her behaviour, barely human. Isaac reminded me of a wounded puppy, with attitude. He was never very far from Derek and Stiles, so imagined there was a pretty serious bond there.

"Well- that wasn't what I was expecting at all," I said to Sam and Cas when we got back.

"Just what were you expecting Dean? A dirty den in the woods with a bunch of supernatural creatures holed up inside?" Sam said with exasperation.

"Maybe," I answered with a laugh. "I mean, come on Sam! After they listed all the random creatures in their pack- some of which we didn't even know existed- you can't tell me you were expecting that!"

"I like them," Cas said with a small smile.

"Me too, Cas," Sam agreed. They were both waiting for me to speak, eyebrows raised questioningly.

I sighed. "Yeah, yeah- me too. They seem like good kids. And anyone who gives up their authentic high school experience to constantly save people's asses- they've gotta be decent."

"They remind me of hunters actually. They're saving people from the supernatural, keeping it hidden, and no one even knows that they're only alive because of them. It's remarkable for a bunch of teenagers," Sam said thoughtfully.

"Huh- I never thought about it like that, but you're right," I said. It's a rough existence, speaking from experience. I hoped to god they find a way to survive this life.

"Dean- we should get some sleep. I imagine they'll want to meet up again in the morning," Sam said with a yawn.

"Yeah- or you'll want to meet up again in the morning," I said, rolling my eyes. So eager. But I nodded and grabbed my angels hand to tow him to our room. "Night Sam," I said over my shoulder.

"Night love birds," he said with a giggle.

I pulled Cas to the bed and he shut the door behind him gently. I already had a mischievous grin on my face and he bit his lip when he spotted it. My grin widened.

"You told everyone we're together," I said, pulling him closer and kissing him lightly.

"I- yes, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-," Cas started uncertainly. He thought he upset me.
