I watched as Stiles' Jeep in front of us pulled off onto the shoulder of the road with an obviously flat tire. I grinned happily at the sight. Thank god. I might actually be able to close my eyes for a few moments. I knew how important it was for us to get to Mexico... but even I could only stay awake for so long without a rest. It would take time- at least twenty minutes- to get that changed right?

"Dean, why are you smiling?" Cas asked in confusion.

I pulled the Impala over behind the Jeep and put it in park. I took my leather jacket off and leaned over to put my head in Cas's lap as I shut my eyes.

"Because their flat tire means I can nap," I said with a mammoth sized yawn. The angel chuckled at me and ran his fingers through my hair. I hummed at the feeling and faded off to sleep almost instantly.

What felt like only minutes later I woke up to the sound of knuckles rapping on the glass. I jerked up and saw Stiles standing at the passenger window peering in at us.

"We're ready," He said through the glass, and I nodded, blinking myself awake.

"Alright! I'm ready!" I said half heartedly. Stiles gave me a sympathetic grin before making his way back to the Jeep. I reminded myself that there were only a few hours left until we made it to our destination. However, I wasn't thrilled to take on a werejaguar and a berserker on almost no sleep.

"What did that take them, like, five minutes?" I grumbled as I turned the keys in the ignition and the Impala roared to life.

"We're almost there, Dean," Cas said reassuringly and I huffed in response.

"Not close enough," I mumbled under my breath. I saw the angel roll his eyes and I knew he heard me.

I followed the Jeep back onto the dirt road grouchily. We had hit the desert hours ago, and there was little to nothing to hold my attention. Just the dirt road and a couple cactuses. I sighed for the billionth time during this trip. I officially hate the desert. I knew I wouldn't like the place. Sam would say 'hey, give it a chance Dean' and I almost rolled my eyes. I guess I wasn't really sight seeing or anything. We were driving to a completely abandoned town that was believed to be cursed. How's that for sight seeing?

We hadn't been driving another hour and a half before the vehicle once again pulled over in front of us. I let out an exasperated sigh and followed suit. I watched as Stiles threw the drivers door open and hustled to the passenger door, only to pull it open aggressively too. He leaned in and must have been holding Derek. I decided not to get out and ask what was going on- I had a feeling I knew anyway. If Derek's not human already, he must be awfully close. Derek Hale is a born werewolf, he had been one all of his life. I cringed at the thought of losing everything that made you, you. It had happened to me on more than one occasion... when I was a vampire and when I was a demon. Just thinking about those times left a bitter taste in my mouth. Although I reached to the angel beside me and squeezed his hand in mine as I remembered he was the reason I turned from demon, back to my human self.

"Did I ever thank you for bringing me back?" I wondered, turning to look into his soulful eyes.

"In your own way," he answered with a small smile. He knew I was talking about the demon and not hell. Our ability to communicate and understand each other was unlike anything else I had ever experienced.

"Well, thank you," I said formally.

"You're very welcome Dean," Cas said happily with a little dip of his head.
