"This doesn't happen very often, does it?" Dean asked with a lopsided grin.

"What Dean?" I asked, cocking my head to the side.

"Just you and I, on the road," he elaborated.

I was in the passenger seat of the Impala while Dean drove, and it definitely felt odd. I think I had sat in this seat maybe 6 times. I always sat in the back, not wanting to infringe on the brothers' dynamic. We had been driving a few hours already, rock music blaring. I understood why Dean loved it so much, it was... what's the word? Catchy. It made me want to move and sing along to the words, like Dean always does. I loved watching him like this. Driving his baby and singing to his favourite songs. This car means so much to him and Sam... its their home. It has been the one constant in their chaotic lives.

"No, this doesn't happen often," I answered with a smile. "It feels strange to sit up here."

He chuckled at that. "Yeah, I guess it would. Just like it feels really weird when I sit in the passenger seat." He shook his head as if to protest the mere idea.

We were following Stiles in his old blue Jeep, they knew the way to Mexico best.

"You know, I've never been to Mexico," Dean mused.

"It's beautiful in a very different way. All heat and dust and cacti. The vast open spaces of the desert are an incredible- and perhaps a daunting- sight." I said fondly. Earth had so many different landscapes and ecosystems, each beautiful in their own way. The desert definitely wasn't my favourite, but I could still appreciate it.

Dean was scrunching you his nose at the description. "I don't know if I'll like it." He speculated. "The only time I enjoy hot weather is when I'm on a beach- with a beer."

"It's not my favourite either, but still beautiful," I said.

Dean glanced at me and asked, "So what is? You've been all over the world. What's your favourite place?"

I mulled the question over. My favourite places were different at different periods in time. The pyramids of the Egyptian desert, the incredible buildings of the Roman Empire, Mayan temples of Mexico, the small fishing towns of Ireland, the untouched depths of the Amazon rainforest. The world had changed so much over the years... what would my favourite place be now? I decided to stick with North America, for Dean's sake.

"I'd have to say the temperate rainforest in British Columbia and Washington. There is no other place like it on earth- literally." I said fondly. The temperate rainforests of North America were the only ones in the world.

"Really? Washington? Nowhere exotic like Europe or something?" He said with surprise.

"Well, at one point in time, yes. But the world has changed, and with it so have my favourite places. Although I do enjoy Ireland. And the Amazon. Every single thing is teeming with life there. Every surface, every patch of ground. There are still tribes living there that have had no contact from the outside world, ever." I said matter of factly.

"Wait, really? How is that even possible?" Dean asked in wonder.

"The amazon is a vast place, and an extremely dangerous environment to the inexperienced. It's one of the most untouched places on this planet." I explained.

"That's crazy! There are still real Indians!" Dean said excitedly, and I rolled my eyes to the heavens at his ignorance.

"Natives, Dean," I corrected.

"Yeah yeah, you know I didn't mean it like that," he said absently.

"We should go sometime," I suggested.
