What the hell? Was the first thought that went through Joshua's head as he stared at Jenkins. His mind raced as he thought about any possible reasons Jenkin's would have for trailing Amara. Finally, when things were calming down and he and Amara were able to lead a somewhat normal life, some more shit was thrown at this. He was completely over it. He wasn't going to be soft with anything or anyone anymore regarding the safety of his family.

Joshua turned his head to speak to his men, but never took his eyes off of Jenkins, "Take him to 31."

"Yes, sir." And within 30 seconds, a bag was placed over Jenkin's head and he was in the back of a blacked-out SUV.

Joshua sighed, running his hands down his face. He walked into the house to find Amara sitting in the living room, holding a napping Luca in her arms.

"Babe, what happened?" She asked when she saw him.

"I'm handling it. That's all you need to know right now, okay. This house is the safest place for you. I have people watching it. If you need anything, call me."

"Okay. Be safe." Amara just agreed, not wanting to cause any stress with extra questions. She was slightly confused about things, but she also wasn't stupid so her mind was starting to place pieces together.

"I love you." He kissed her lips and Luca's forehead before heading out the door.

"We love you too."

______

Joshua stared at Officer Jenkins, who sat tied to a chair in the middle of an abandoned warehouse with his head bowed. His mind raced trying to figure out what Jenkins could possibly want with Amara and why he was following her.

"Okay. First off, what's your first name?"

No response.

"Hey! I know you can hear me. I don't want to do anything excessive but it seems like you're not gonna make things easy for me. So, I'm gonna ask again. What's your first name?"

No response.

Joshua looked over at Max, one of his right-hand men. He tilted his head back slightly.

Max walked over to Office Jenkins, gripping his hair in his hand and yanking his head up. Jenkins grimaced in pain but didn't move his eyes from the floor.

"Dude, I'm tired as shit and would rather be at home with my girl and son right now. All I asked was your name? I could rip your scalp off your skull and call it a day, but I'm not. So again, what's your first name?"

A mumble escaped Jenkins' lips.

"You're gonna have to speak up."

"Grayson."

"Okay, Grayson. Why were you following Amara?"

No response.

"Gesù cazzo Christo. Perché sta rendendo questa merda così difficile?" Jesus fucking Christ. Why is he making this shit so difficult?

Grabbing a chair, Joshua dragged it in front of Grayson and sat down.

"Look, I'm trying to be nice here, but at this point, I'm tired of all the bullshit. Now answer my question before I drill holes in your head and watch your brain leak out."

"I have to do what he says or he'll kill my wife and children."

"Who?"

Another mumble escaped Jenkins' lips.

"SPEAK THE FUCK UP!" Joshua yelled.

"Andrew Russell."
