Chapter 10 - You And Me?

Betty's POV

Once I get home I call Kevin straight away, I had to tell him Jughead kissed me, I start to dial his number into my phone but then remembered that I didn't tell Veronica about my crush on him, I didn't know if I should but she was really nice, I've only known her like a day but we were meant to be best friends, I could feel it, so I made a group chat with me, Veronica and Kevin, I called and they both picked up,
"Hey girl" Veronica said, "Hey Betty, what's up?" Kevin asked, "So Veronica, I have to tell you something since we're like besties now"
"Yay! We're besties!" she exclaimed, "Ahem, remember bestie Kevin over here?", "Oh Kevin you're my bestie too, don't worry!" I say smiling at him, "Same Kevin, I'd say we're besties too" Veronica said, "Anyway what do you have to tell me?" Veronica asked, "Well, you know Jughead" I said, "Obviously, one of my best friends", "Well, I have like a miniature crush on him" I say, "Miniature?!" Kevin exclaims, "Girl, you know his frickin class schedule, his favourite food, you know everything about that guy, if you wanted you could write his biography!" Kevin says, "OMG, B, You're blushing", "Guys, stop!" I say laughing,
"Not our fault you're like totally major crushing on jughead" Veronica says laughing, "Anyway, what I wanted to say was he kissed me today" I say excitedly, "OMG, NOOO! " Kevin says shocked, "YAAASSSS, GO GIRL!" Veronica says happy,
I blush and smile at myself, "Girl you gotta go tell him how you feel" Veronica says, "What! No!" I say quickly, "Betty yes do it!" Kevin says
"I gotta go now, but tell me how it goes" he adds, "Okay, bye Kev love you!" I say "Bye, love you lots! kisses" Veronica says, "Bye guys love you both too" Kevin says hanging up the phone, "V I can't tell him, he wouldn't like me back" I say, "Well B, he would because he kissed you duhh", "That was like a spur of the moment thing though" "Maybe, Maybe not" she said, "You gotta go find out!" she says, "V I can't even get there, it's on the whole other side of town, plus I'm not changed" "Get changed, I'm coming to get you!" she explains, "V, it's 12:48pm"
"So, he doesn't get the nickname 'Nighthawk' for no reason B, he's mostly always awake" she says "Fine" I say getting excited. I get changed into a simple outfit and hear Veronica pull up in the driveway, thank god my mom was on a business trip or I wouldn't be allowed to leave, I walk outside and get into Veronica's car, "Hey v" I say, "Hi B, so just how excited are you?" she asks happy, "Really excited, thanks for kind of forcing me to do this"
"It was my pleasure, besides it sounds like you really really like him" she said, "I do v, I really like him" "Great I'm so happy" "But what if he doesn't like me back" "Okay, I'll drop you of and drive away, I'll come back after 15 minutes and if you're not out I know it went well, yeah?"
"Yeah, okay" "I'm the best bestie ever" she says, "You are v, thank you really!"
"Look here we are" she says pointing towards the sign, "Uh, which one is his?" I ask,
"The one at the top" she says pointing to it, "Okay, so I either see you tomorrow or in 15 minutes?", "Yeah",
"Wait, if it does go well, how will I get home?" "Ask to stay or if you don't wanna call me" she says, "Okay, well bye" "Bye girl" she said smiling and waving at me, I stand in front of the door and watch Veronica drive off.
I build up the courage to knock on the door,
*KNOCK KNOCK *
"Just a second" I hear him shout, he opens the door with a surprised look on his face, "Betty what are you doing here?" he asks, "I couldn't sleep I came to see you" I lied about not being able to sleep, saying I was forced here cause of my major crush on you would be weird,
"Betty you can't be here it's dangerous" "What no jug, ill be fine" I say, trying to go into his trailer, he blocks me from getting in, "Jug let me in" I say, "Betty it's 1am, you can't be here it's too dangerous, there's people here, bad people" he says looking around him, from across the park we hear someone shout, "Hey Jones, who's the chic" looking me up and down, "Hey, mind your damn business you creep" he shouts back, the guy walks back into his trailer, "Betty really what are you doing here" he says, I somehow manage to push past him, he closes the door to the trailer and turns to face me, he looks straight into my eyes for what felt like forever but was really only a few seconds, "Anyway jug" I say breaking the eye contact, "I uhh I need to a-ask you some-something" I say shyly, "What?" he asks, "Okay so uhh" "What is it Betty?", "Ilikereallylikeyouandwanttobewithyou" I say fastly, "Betty you're gonna have to slow down I can't understand you", I sigh deeply, "Here goes nothing" I say, "So jughead since I met you I've been like major crushing on you and I want to be with you but it's okay if you don't feel the same" I let out "There I said it" he looks at me, "Jughead, say something" he still just stands staring at me, "Jughe...." just as I was about to finish saying his name he kisses me, he picks me up and spins me around, I could tell he was happy, "So jug? What does that mean"
"Betty Cooper.... Will you be my girlfriend" he says with a huge smile plastered on his face "Jughead Jones, of course I will" I answer with the same smile on my face, He kisses me again, cupping my face in his hands, "I'm so happy right now" he whispers between the kiss, I can't help but smile, I break from the kiss and say "I gotta go now, and let's not tell anyone yet, I want to have some privacy before Veronica and kev and stuff start asking questions yeah?"
"Of course Betty, whatever you want" he says smiling at me, I give him one last peck on the lips before saying good bye and walking out the door. I walk over to Veronica's car and get in, "So, how'd it go?" she asks, "I chickened out" I say frowning at her, "Well, we'll try again later" she says smiling at me.
She drops me off home and I get into my pyjamas and lay in my bed it was 1:30 now,
I decided to text jughead,
You up boyfriend?
I am girlfriend, what's up?
Nothing much just wanted to say goodnight.
