Jason's POV • MORNING OF THE PARADE
Two years ago this parade would have made my week, but after searching for so long, I've quickly began to doubt if my mate is out there, or at least in the states.
None the less, Jax would castrate me if I didn't go, but he got excite over any possibility to find out mate.
I do not!!! And even if I do, it's better then sulking around like you do! At least I want to find out better half.
It's not that I don't want to find her, it's just been so long that it's hard to really get excited about it over and over again knowing that you'll just be let down once more.
Jax just whimpered before laying himself back down in the back of my head.
Jackass is trying to sleep after he kept me up half the night screaming about this damn parade.
Grumbling a bit, I shower before slipping on a pair of dress slacks and a the shirt I pressed last night, mate or no mate, the possibility of meeting them means I must look my best at any cost.
Too nervous to eat, I walk past the kitchen and make my way out of the warriors barracks. All the warriors live in assigned barracks scattered around the edges of the territory. When we find out mates we have the choice to move into the main pack house or build our own house on the territory.
Our mate and us will have privacy, even if i have to build our house myself, I'll make sure they are safe and protected in our home.
When you talk like that I almost forget what a pain in the ass you are. ALMOST.
I make it to the edge of pack territory, where the towns limits start and the other parade participants are all gathered chatting amongst themselves.
I stand with them, towards the back of the parade.
Move up assface! Our mate can't see us all the way back here!!
That's IF our mate is here, and either way they won't need to see us, we will feel the pull. We're almost finished going through the town so it won't matter either way. The group quickly goes through the center of the town, through the square where the majority of the towns citizens are. I see as humans and werewolves alike smile as they find their mates. I don't quite believe in luck but if I did they would be far luckier than me.
Stop. Now.
What in the world are you talking about.
Left, he growled out, if I wasn't stuck with him for the last 8 years I wouldn't have been able to understand it.
Either way I move towards the left, all I see is a paint store, but that quickly changes as I feel a sharp tug at my chest. Like someone took my lungs and bound them. Constant unrelenting tightness that only began to ease itself the closer I got the the paint store. Only one thing, short of a heart attack, would make werewolves feel this way.
Mate
