Chapter 8

I wake up to the loud noises of dishes slamming around. It's only been a few weeks of staying at Liam's. I'm still getting used to waking up in a different room. All of the same decorations are up but something will always be different. I walk down the stairs rubbing my eyes, the kitchen light it on. When I walk into the kitchen his mom is whisking eggs. I clear my throat to get her attention and she turns around exposing her dirty apron.

"Did I wake you?" She asks.

"Yeah, it's okay." I say, "What are you doing?"

She rubs her eyes and says, "Breakfast."

"At four in the morning?" I ask.

Her eyes widen and she frowns, "I though it was six."

I shake my head holding in my smile, "No, go back to bed I'll take care of this."

She puts the bowl on the counter and walks past me to her room. I clean up all of the egg shells and all of the tools. After sweeping I head back up to my room when I hear a door creek open. When I turn around Liam is standing in his bedroom doorway.

"What's going on?" He asks.

"Nothing just helped your mom." I say.

He walks toward me and pulls me in for a hug. I awkwardly wrap my arms around his back.

"Thank you." He says.

I nod and pull away, he turns and walks back into his room. I chuckle and walk back into my room to get the rest of my sleep.

"Leah!"

I roll over to look towards the white door. It slams open and Liam stands there with a smile.

I groan loud, "What?" I ask.

"Come on, breakfast." He says.

I shake my head and put a blanket over my face. It gets ripped off making a rush of cold air cover me. Why did I have to wear shorts?   He laughs at me when I squeal and roll around.

"Fine!" I squeak and jump up.

He walks out of the room and I follow behind him. When I reach the bottom floor it smells heavenly. I continue to walk until I see the three plates sitting at the table. I sit in front of the plate and his mom sits across from me. She gives me a smile of which I return nicely, Liam sits next to me and places a glass of water in front of me.

"Thanks." I say and take a sip.

"Yep." He says.

"Enjoy!" His mom exclaims.

After breakfast I wash my plate and walk up to my room. I click the TV on and jump on my bed, what I'm guessing is Liam, I hear stomping up the stairs. The door swings open and I sit up waiting for him to walk in.

"Let's go swimming." He says.

"What? why?" I ask.

He throws a pillow at me and it hits me in the face, "Hey!"

"It'll be fun." He says.

"I don't want to go somewhere loud." I say.

"It'll be just us." He says.

I roll my eyes and get up, he tosses me a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. I slip the shirt over my head and point at the door.

"What?" He asks.

"Go." I say smiling.

"Do I have to?" He groans.

"Yes!" I say laughing.

I nudge his back with my leg as he walks out the door. I quickly slip my shorts off and slip my jeans on. I accidentally shove my foot through the hole before finding the end of the legs. Three knocks at the door scare me before I take a nice breath.

"What?" I ask annoyed.

The door opens almost hitting me, he frowns when he sees me.

"Were you standing out there the whole time?" I ask.

"Maybe." He says, "Lets go."

"I have to pack a bathing suit." I say.

"No, just untie that shirt and it should reach your thighs." He points.

I look down realizing he's right, I shrug and walk out the room behind him. It's nice being able to where what I like and not have to pretend. When we say our good byes and head out to the car I text Madi.

"Hey." I text.

"Hi, what's up?" She asks.

"Nothing much just going places." I say.

"Okay, I'm busy but talk later." She texts.

I turn off my phone and shove it in my pocket. When we pull into the wood area I notice the wide river.

"I though we were going to the pool?" I say.

"Heck no!" He says pulling off his shirt.

His tattoos are always so surprising, "When did you get your first one?" I blurt out.

He turns around, "What?" He asks.

"When did you get your first tattoo?" I ask.

"When I was fifteen." He says and pull off his pants.

I think about how perfect his words are. The way they roll off of his lips, how did he get them a fifteen? His mom seemed responsible and his dad isn't around. I erase the thoughts for now and watch as he walks toward the edge of the dock. He jumps in making the water splash up in the air. He shoots up and looks at me while pushing his hair back.

"Come on!" He says.

"I... it's cold." I say.

"It's warm, just get in here." He says.

I cross my arms and he just waits for me to say something, "Turn around." I say.

He swings his body around and I quickly untie my shirt. It falls mid length between my thighs and I slide my pants down.

"Okay." I say.

He turns around and smiles at me, I sit on the edge of the dock and dip my feet in. The water is warm against my feet but it sends a shiver down my spine.

"Told you." He says swimming to me.

He looks up at me, his eyes pierce mine. He holds his arms up and gestures me to come to him.

"Noooo!" I laugh.

"Come on!" He laughs back.

He places his hands under my arm pits and pulls me into the water. The warm water covers my body and I begin to swim as he lets me go. I smile at the comfort I'm relieved with.

"See." He says.

"Yes, okay, you're right." I confess.

We splash around and play for a while until a few hours pass. I climb out first and tie my shirt in a not. We both get dressed and I stay in my wet shirt, when me get on the road we'll head some where fun.
