When he came

Falling

When I walk up the stairs to the door I hear the car door close. I quickly turn around to see Liam running toward me. 

"Don't want to forget this." He said putting my phone in my hand. 

"Yeah, thanks." I said beaming. 

He stares at me for a second before I let go of the doorknob and shake his hand. He laughs quietly before turning around as I open the door. I walk to my window and watch as he gets in his car and drives away. I squeal as I rush up the stairs into my room. I dance around before falling back on my bed, letting out a sigh I close my eyes. It was supposed to be a horrible dinner and Noah's mom would make horrible remarks.

Check!, then yell at Noah to take me home, and I'd plop on my bed angry and upset. But of course my stupid self had to run and bump into him. I run my fingers over my knees feeling the dried blood. Heading into my bathroom I take a rag out and wipe my knees with water then peroxide. Afterwards I click on my TV and lay in my comfy bed, I want to change but I'm comfortable. My phone buzzes beside me. 

"Hey speedy." The text reads. I notice the name Liam. 

I smile as I type back, "You're slick." 

"Sure, how's your knees?" He asks. 

"Fine, like they were before." I text giggling. 

He sends a few emojis before texting, "Let me come over tomorrow night." 

"Okay." I reply sarcastically. 

"Okay." He texts. Shit. 

I turn off my phone and change into some shorts and a tank top. When I climb into bed I let out a yawn and turn off the TV. I raise my hand into the air and say out loud, "Goodnight fucked up world." Smiling as I roll over and close my eyes. 

Beep... beep... beep... 

I wake up to my annoying alarm going off. I slam my hand hard onto it and knock it off of the night stand. I groan as I roll onto the floor over to my closet and get dressed. When I have my black jeans slipped on my heart pounds. I just have to avoid my mom, she won't like this. I pull a pink sweater over my head while I gag. I look in the mirror and laugh at myself, I head down stairs after getting ready. 

I don't see my mom so I plop on the couch in the living room and pull out my phone. 

"Are you picking me up today, I can always drive if not." I text Madi. 

"Could you drive, I have an appointment today." She texts. 

"Sure." I reply blankly. 

Looks like I'm riding in my Toyota. I laugh at the though then remember I actually have to. I pull the keys of the hanger and get in the car. It smells like grandmas, I turn it on and put my phone in the cup holder. It buzzes as I go to pull out of the driveway, I stop and grab my phone.

"See ya at school." It reads. Liam. 

I read it twice and text, "Can't wait." 

I put it back and drive to school thankful I didn't have to deal with my dreadful mother. I try to keep friends around so she can't yell, or hurt me. When I pull into the parking lot I see the teachers talking by the front doors. I look over and see Noah walking toward me, I take a deep breath while he hugs me and smiles. 

"Hey babe." He says. 

"Hi." I say quietly I don't think I could hear myself. 

"I have to go." I say and walk away. 

I really didn't want to talk to him right now. I was having a nice day and I didn't want him to ruin it. When I walked into the school everyone was loud and it made my head hurt. I hated school but here I was because of my mom. I wouldn't even be in school if she didn't threaten me, I'm still not eighteen. I couldn't wait to be though, I walk up to my first class and wait for the bell to ring. 

When it finally did everyone rushed in and we began to work. 

"Okay!" She exclaimed, "We're going to work on a report, but there's a twist." 

I sit there bored as I watch her go on about what we're supposed to do. 

"Now, let's do partners." She said clapping her hands. 

I have the worst social anxiety, I'm not going to have a partner. 

"Lilly and Max, Cole and Bree, Sam and Ava." She continued leaving me on the edge. 

"Okay, that leaves Taylor and Parker and Leah and Liam." My head shoots around the room until I spot him smiling at me. 

I didn't even know he was in this class, I would be staring if I did. 

"Okay everyone get with your partners and get to work." She says sitting at her desk. 

I go to get up but he's already almost to my desk. He smiles and sits next to me, his hair wavy as every. 

"Okay, so what are we doing?" He asks laughing. 

I love his laugh, "Umm I was hoping you could tell me." I said smiling. 

We both laugh together as we flip through the papers she passed out. I fidget with my nails as he flips the pages. Noticing his rings, I reach out and touch the one on his middle finger. He stops and looks at me as I snap. 

"Sorry." I say quickly pulling my hand to my lap. 

"No, I like them too." He says smiling, "Questions?" 

"It's nice, where'd you get it?" I ask. 

"An old shop on the side of town." He says. 

I nod and lean forward trying to focus on the papers. I know he had to have some clue, I didn't understand a word. The rest of the day passes with ease, nothing too interesting. 

When the last bell rings I grab my books quickly and walk out the doors. People rush out behind me, bumping me, making my books fall. I groan as I crouch and grab some, I see Liam crouch in front of me and hand me the last two. 

"Thanks." I say standing. 

"Yeah, no one really knows there are other people in the world." He says smiling. 

I giggle and begin to walk and he stays by me. When I get to my car I open the passenger side and throw my books in. 

"See you later." Liam says and walks back. 

I wave at him while smiling as I climb into the car. Back to the grandma smell, the kind who have many cats. On the way home I stop for coffee and a sandwich.
