Crushes on you

*Chapter ten-Emotions*

Matthew told me that he was worried about me the next day at school. We were in the lunch line and i was grabbing a chocolate milk from the school refrigerators. He leaned over and grabbed a tray of food with a hamburger and fries on it.His elbow bumped into mines. "Why?" i said. "You seemed really mad that other day when we were in the library" he said. I stood still holding my tray looking around for a table to sit at. I didnt want to lie to Matthew and say that i was okay. I found a table and sat down. Matthew slid his tray next to mines and pulled a chair back and sat down in it putting his elbows on his lap and his hands underneath his chin.I took my chocolate milk off of my tray and shook it and grabbed the straw off of the tray."I didnt mean to yell at you" i said. I dropped my straw in my chocolate milk taking a small sip from it. I had a lot on my mind right now. I hardly fell asleep last night. I heard laughter coming from a table across from us.The laugh sounded familiar and i realized that it was Bryans laugh.

Matthew didn't bother to touch his food i knew he was watching me.We never had a moment where we were both silent. I didnt want to look up.I noticed that Bryan wasn't sitting with Sierra or the other girls.I felt butterflies in my stomach as i slowly looked up at Bryans table.He was wearing a plaid red and blue shirt and his curly brown hair was tousled.He looked over towards me and my heart started to beat faster.I could feel the heat running through my cheeks. Matthew had placed his hand on my shoulder."Alexis your red" he said.I looked over at Matthew his warm brown eyes were locked on my eyes.He had dropped his hand from my shoulder and he glanced over at Bryans table. I looked at Matthew and i saw something in his face that i had never saw before. He looked at his tray of food and pushed it back gently with his knuckle."Ill be right back" he said standing up.I didn't know what just happened but Matthew looked as if he didnt appreciate me looking at Bryan the way i was .
