Light beamed right into my eyes basically shouting at me to get up.
I sighed as I sat up devastated that my sleep was rudely interrupted. "Regina come down here please, there's a man wanting to speak with you." "Alright I need to change first." Groaning I flipped off my nice warm blankets.
I hurried to get a shirt, a skirt and a pair of brown boot on. I ran down the stairs to the door way to see a well dress man standing in front of my Mother.
"Miss. Lester, I presume?" I nodded "I would like to speak to you about the Test, may I come in?" I look to Mom before nodding. I watched him abruptly enter into my house and immediately sat on the couch then had the nerve to gestured for me to also sit down.
"I wish to tell you a little more about this Exam." I nodded leaning forward slightly. "Well as you may know women are known for dying durning this exam and I need you to sign this."
I raised an eye brow, " And what is this?" "This here is a paper as states that the royal family is not liable for your death for any of those you have killed." I almost gagged on my spit. The Royal family isn't liable!
They're the Royal family! They have to be liable for anything the Kingdom does! I scowled snatching the paper and pen, signing neatly at the bottom. Shoving it back into his hands I crossed my arms over my chest with a huff.
"Also I have one more thing for you." He placed a giant bottle on the small table in front of me. "Um. What's this?" "Protein. We need you to be healthy and strong so please finish that bottle by tonight. That will be all." He got up and head towards the door.
"Also by the way if the prince asks to do anything. I mean absolutely anything you must do it." I gapped at his words, I couldn't believe what he just said, "You have to be kidding!"
He shrugged and leaned in and whispered, "But he is a nineteen year old boy that has been cooped up in a castle for his entire life. So you tell me about his desires."
As he left all I could think of was how right he was, the Prince was still a young person with as many desires as a guy his age would have. How could I be so blind to that!
I couldn't help but ponder at his statement, so much so I didn't even see the time passing by. Before I knew it the bright day had turned into a somber night.
Walking to my room I closed my door behind me. I really didn't want to leave my family, but the selected have no choice of going or not. I might never see them again, but that's just how it is.
Sighing I reluctantly packed my belongings and headed to the front door where guards where already waiting for me. I had to wear a plain white top and a pair black pants. Even though I wanted to where my boots, my Mother made me wear a pair heels.
"Regina I have something for you." I walked over to my Father who was holding a small leather brown journal. "This here is the journal of great aunt Cinda. In the pages contain thoughts and emotions about the test; I am giving it to you so you can not repeat her mistakes." I nodded taking the journal.
I hugged every one of my family members and Zara of course, "I'm going to miss you. And if Elizabeth does anything give her a good slap." I laughed a little "Yea I will." I walked down the road to a plane with a couple more girls waiting.
Most of them looked like the rich who stole form everyone. I sat as far back from them possible playing with my Fencer sword around my waist. If I'm gonna die I hope it's not from this plane. "Hello." I look up to see a girl with long black hair. "Hi."
"Um. I'm Amanda." "Regina." She sat down next to me "I really couldn't sit by them, they're a bit frightening. "She pointed to a group of prissy snobs sitting in a cirle talking about who knows what. "I would have to agree with you there."
She smiled "Can I just say I'm kind of scared of going after that man told me that I could die." I nodded "Yes that is pretty scary thing to be told, but I think we have a better chance at surviving then the girls over there."
"Really?" I nod.
The rest of the trip I fell asleep until Amanda woke me. "Regina wake up the plane landed." I sit up and brush down my hair with my hand. "Laddies remember to smile," a women said in the front of the plane.
"Ok at first it might be a bit overwhelming, but don't worry This will all become natural to you all in time." We all stood and waited for the door to open. A bit overwhelming is a understatement, the crowd was absolutely ginormous.
Each person smiling as we one by one walked out of the plane. As I observed them I couldn't help but think, what would their reactions be when only one comes out victorious.
